    Your role and responsibilities

    • We are seeking interns to join a busy, innovative, and outcome‑focused Marketing team driving IBM’s digital and physical marketing‑led campaigns across the UK and Ireland. Based in our York Road office in London, you’ll collaborate with colleagues in the UK & Europe, blending creativity with analytics to deliver standout customer experiences and measure real business impact.  This 12‑month placement is perfect for motivated, curious, tech‑savvy students who want real responsibility, real impact and real development,  contributing  to marketing projects and seeing how a global organisation operates.

    What you’ll do

    • You’ll support the planning and execution of a broad range of marketing activities and events—both in‑person and, when appropriate, digital—while learning the tools and tactics top teams use to perform at scale. On any given week, you might be:
    • Assisting with the coordination and delivery of proprietary and third‑party events, providing on‑site support, and helping with post‑event follow‑ups.
    • Getting hands‑on with platforms like Rainfocus (event process hub), Seismic, and w3 publisher, and maintaining the online event calendar.
    • Analysing and tracking event and pipeline performance using online tools to access data; your Excel skills (including pivot tables) will be very helpful for turning data into insights.
    • Sharing weekly updates in the UKI Event Execution Management System and keeping our online event community hub current.
    • Scheduling team calls, organising content, and coordinating other IT resources to power IBM’s large events.
    • Taking responsibility for the marketing storeroom—upkeeping the online portal and booking system for marketing‑owned assets and managing shipments and returns.

    Why this role matters

    • You’ll help shape customer experiences that resonate, while learning how to evaluate return on investment and demonstrate the success of marketing in supporting IBM’s business objectives. It’s a chance to build skills quickly, contribute to real outcomes, and see your work in action at high‑impact events.

    What’s in it for you?

    • Access online learning tools, training sessions, and development opportunities designed to help you grow.
    • Be supported by two managers plus a network of Early Professionals and HR colleagues.
    • Make connections across the business with leaders, interns and teams from every area of IBM

    What you’ll bring

    • You communicate clearly—tailoring messages to your audience—and you’re organised, collaborative, and accountable. You’re proactive, comfortable troubleshooting, and you use your initiative to move work forward. You sweat the details and back your ideas with data. You have proven proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and you’re good with data—able to analyse and manipulate it to extract meaningful insights.

    Two role pathways

    Event Intern:

    • You’ll focus on event planning and execution for in‑person and digital experiences, provide on‑site support, manage event tools and calendars, and help drive post‑event actions that turn engagement into outcomes.

    Field Marketing Intern:

    • You’ll support a broad range of field marketing activities, track pipeline and event performance, provide weekly system updates, manage the event community hub, and help lead other ITs in support of IBM’s large events—while overseeing our marketing asset operations.
