    Associate Project Director - Rail Schemes

    The project:

    With continued growth across UK infrastructure, we have a demand for experienced professionals in aviation to join our mobility business sector. With sustained airline passenger growth in the UK and the recent government approvals, Mace consult has been appointed for one of the UK’s largest airports in the South East of England to deliver their high-profile airport expansion plans.

    We have an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director - Project Management to join our team on a permanent basis. As Project Manager you will represent Mace whilst interfacing with our key clients. You will be required to lead others effectively, give clear direction, coach and support others to reach their full potential.

    You’ll be responsible for:

    • Overseeing project timeframes and project budgets and ensures budgets are managed diligently and highlights any risks, challenges and mitigations.
    • On behalf of external/third-party clients oversee the project management of the project/s on an individual and team basis from inception to post-completion.
    • Ensuring the successful delivery of the project in line with all stakeholders’ expectations communicating strategies to the wider client/ consultant/contractor team.
    • Providing subject matter expertise and guidance to support the success of the project.
    • Overseeing management of the client and consultant team and all external/project stakeholders to ensure effective completion of the project in line with client expectations.
    • Actively drives collaboration between all parties.
    • Producing design and authorities programme to be integrated with procurement and delivery programme.
    • Managing the timely delivery to programme from project inception/brief, through design development and planning, contractor procurement and construction phase in accordance with the overall delivery program and agreed project milestones.

    You’ll need to have:

    • Proven experience delivering infrastructure projects, including complex new rail route planning and delivery.
    • Strong understanding of rail construction complexities within major, regulated environments.
    • Demonstrable experience working with DfT, TfL and Network Rail stakeholders.
    • Chartered or equivalent professional (MCIOB, MAPM, MRICS, MICE) with strong NEC and project management expertise.
