Develop Installation Design Descriptions (IDDs) in accordance with UK MOD JSP standards (e.g., JSP 440, JSP 480, JSP 604) and NATO SDIP 27/29.
Produce detailed installation designs covering physical infrastructure, fibre optic and copper structured cabling, power, and environmental considerations.
Collaborate closely with Rolls-Royce stakeholders, design authorities, and third-party contractors to capture requirements and ensure compliant design delivery.
Ensure all designs meet information assurance, safety, and security requirements for critical environments.
Apply the SCIDA (Site Co-ordinating Installation Design Authority) Engineering Change Request (ECR) process to manage and document controlled design changes.
Provide technical input during design reviews, audits, and assurance activities.
Support the preparation of handover documentation and as-built records.
Position qualifications:
Proven experience producing installation or infrastructure design documentation for MOD or defence projects.
Experience and use of Defence SCIDA Standards (UK MOD JSP standards, NATO SDIP 27/29), and secure installation requirements.
Experience in data centre, information and communications technology, or secure facility infrastructure design.
Expertise in fibre optic and copper structured cabling design.
Ability to coordinate effectively with third-party contractors and suppliers.
Hands-on experience with the SCIDA ECR process for controlled design changes.
Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
Chartered Engineer or working towards.
Experience with Rolls-Royce/UK MOD site deployments or secure communications networks.
Knowledge of Rolls-Royce/UK MOD design approval and assurance processes.
