Do you have a passion for advancing knowledge and shaping the next generation of sport professionals? Join us at the University of Brighton as a Lecturer in Sport & Exercise Science and become part of a vibrant, forward-thinking academic community within our School of Education, Sport and Health Sciences.

This is more than just a teaching role—it’s a chance to make a real impact. You’ll contribute to a research-active environment that values innovation, inclusivity, and excellence in both education and student experience.

We’re looking for a motivated and knowledgeable individual with expertise in Sport and Exercise Science who can inspire students through engaging, current, high-quality teaching. Whether your background is in academia or professional practice, we value your experience and will support you in developing your own research or applied interests within a collaborative and supportive environment. We are happy to consider applications from a variety of Sport & Exercise Science disciplines, but particularly welcome applications from those with a background in exercise psychology, performance analysis, biomechanics, sport rehabilitation or clinical exercise physiology.

    • A Higher Education teaching qualification and/or an HEA Fellowship, or willingness to undertake this within the first 12 months
    • Professional experience of working in areas relevant to sport and exercise science delivery
    • Chartered Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (CASES) accreditation

    • Experience implementing creative approaches to developing teaching and learning
    • Competent in learning technologies, data analysis software (or Python/R) and AI, for effective use in teaching, learning and assessment
