Mechanic - (Aerospace) at Rolls-Royce

Position Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanic to join the EOS team, based in Derby.

The Engine Overhaul Services (EOS) facility is 27,000m2, with ~550 employees, and operational for 20hrs a day, 365 days a year. As the only wholly-owned Large Engine MRO facility, with capability to maintain all modern Trent engines, EOS is fundamental to the future success of Civil Aerospace.

• Our Mechanics complete engine maintenance, modifications, and inspections on The Trent series of engines within the workshop facility. On occasion, you may be required to provide ad-hoc customer support, away from base. However, for the most part, this is a workshop-based role.
• This is a fast-paced role due to set timescales and you’ll be working as part of a team of nine supporting the wider operation. You will work an overlay shift pattern covering weekends and bank holidays, with an attractive shift premium.

What you will be doing:

• General maintenance.
• Component inspection and engine level inspection.
• Conduct engine maintenance, modification, and inspections.
• EASA/CAA/FAA Form 1 release to service of engines and components.

• Experience working with gas turbine engines.
• Awareness of EASA Part 145 standards. A level of ability, competency and knowledge is required to work towards eventually achieving approval to complete Form 1 release to service.
• A self-starter, with a flexible approach and ability to work on own initiative with great teamwork.
• PC literate.
• Applicants will be time served and have completed an engineering modern advanced apprenticeship with a minimum of City & Guilds Level 3, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ)/Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 or equivalent.
