    R&D TBS Engineer (18 months FTC)

    Job Purpose

    Reporting to Europe Foods R&D Technical Stewardship Lead, R&D TBS Engineer works effectively with cross-functional & R&D partners to deliver the technical R&D aspects of multiple TBS (Technical Stewardship) projects in Europe Food organisation, with main focus on contaminants agenda, for all technologies through leveraging technical knowledge, applying business processes & creating risk based fast solutions.

    In this role you will ensure protecting licence to operate, maintaining supply & ensuring technical data is accurate & used effectively. You will lead TBS projects with close partnership with Global Functions, Technology Teams, Food Safety, Regulatory Affairs and Supply Chain and other key stakeholders to ensure protecting licence to operate. Main focus will be on contaminants agenda management; mitigation actions & coordination, team capability development on contaminants, supporting Horizon contaminants from TBS side.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide strategic oversight and leadership for the development and execution of multiple complex projects across the TBS area with a focus on contaminants area ensuring Europe Foods maintains its license to operate, secures uninterrupted supply, and leverages accurate technical data for informed decision-making
    • Apply a strong risk-based mindset and decisive judgment to deliver Food Safety and Regulatory projects on time, safeguarding compliance and mitigating business continuity and supply chain risks
    • Lead high-impact projects independently with minimal supervision, proactively engaging and influencing stakeholders at various seniority levels, and escalating critical issues where appropriate to enable timely resolution
    • Ensure setting high standards for compliance and continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility

    Qualifications

    • Graduate in Food Engineering / Science discipline or equivalent
    • At least 7 years’ experience in FMCG R&D
    • Leadership skills through management of projects from initial step through to launch
    • Experience of working across different markets and/or in a global matrixed organisation
    • Prioritisation skills – ability to manage and differentiate between multiple fluid competing & fast emerging priorities
    • Spotting connections between workstreams to support wider business performance
    • In-depth analytical skills to interpret complex data and distil into meaningful information e.g. interpreting process data, experimental design and statistical inference
    • Good understanding/appreciation of the broader business environment and application of technical and commercial knowledge during project execution
    • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence with integrity through persuasive communication to win support at more senior levels within R&D
    • Ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders from different levels, backgrounds and cultures
    • Strong analytical skills and detail-oriented
    • Excellent cross-functional partnering skills.
