    Senior Buyer

    About the role:

    As a Senior Buyer within JCB Service, you'll lead a dynamic operational purchasing team, managing a diverse supplier portfolio to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of parts for our global dealer network. Your role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement, cost-down initiatives, and process innovation, including the use of automation. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and utilise SAP systems to support efficient operations. With a strong customer-first mindset, you’ll respond to global enquiries, provide quotations, and oversee the development of your team, playing a key role in transforming JCB’s aftermarket service operations

    What does this role involve day to day?

    • Lead a fast-paced operational purchasing team within JCB Service, managing a diverse supplier portfolio across key commodity areas.
    • Ensure timely and reliable sourcing of parts to support global dealers and customers, balancing lead-times, cost, and supplier performance.
    • Drive cost-down and re-sourcing initiatives to optimise purchasing strategies and support global customer needs.
    • Champion continuous improvement and process development, including the use of robotics for repeatable tasks.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Inventory, Customer Service, Technical Service, and global warehouse operations.
    • Manage SAP-based workstreams, ensuring efficient system use and data accuracy.
    • Respond to global dealer network enquiries with urgency, providing quotations, sourcing new parts, and maintaining a customer-first mindset.
    • Lead and support a team of at least four direct reports, fostering development and performance.
    • Report to the Parts Inventory & Operational Purchasing Manager and play a key role in operational transformation.

    This will be suited to you if...

    • You have strong purchasing experience in an aftermarket service environment.
    • You're confident in negotiation and supplier management, with a detailed understanding of cost tracking and budget planning.
    • You thrive in a dynamic, global matrix organisation and are comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
    • You're experienced with SAP systems and quick to learn new technologies.
    • You posses excellent communication skills and a proactive, customer-focused mindset.
    • You're passionate about continuous improvement and innovation in procurement processes.
    • You're flexible to travel and adaptable to changing priorities.
    • You're working towards or hold MCIPS certification.
