The Opportunity
Join us in the CPD group in our North Geography, where you'll play a crucial role in one of our largest teams outside London. You will ideally be based in Leeds, and you'll be at the heart of our growth and success, helping us win new business and deliver exciting projects across the North-west and Yorkshire.
We're looking for forward-thinking and data driven Transport Planner who is an integral part of the development and placemaking jigsaw, assisting senior leaders and managers in bringing value through technical excellence - connecting places and improving lives.
The individual will be involved in a range of projects including, but not limited to, transport strategy and policy development, planning for a range of transport modes (walking, wheeling and cycling, bus, rail, highways) and planning for development.
Although ideally based in the Leeds office, there will be a requirement to interact with colleagues across the other offices in our North Geography (including Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool and Newcastle), with colleagues from Town Planning and City Economics (part of the CPD Portfolio) as well as less frequent interaction with other Arup offices and disciplines nationally and internationally.
Is this role for you?
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to and influence the future planning of a dynamic and evolving team, developing our skillsets to ensure we have the breadth and depth of experience to deliver projects that shape the future of transport and the places it serves in the North and beyond. As part of the role, you will report to an assigned Line Manager and indirectly to the CPD North Geography leader.
You will work with Transport Planning colleagues in the North to support on projects, deliver tasks and enable future growth. Your technical background should be in Transport Planning and strategy development, supplemented with strength in data analytics, and you will be required to have a desire to gain knowledge of the regional transport market and client organisations across the North of England. You will work with our Infrastructure engineers in the development of scheme designs.
Build the technical expertise of our transport planning practice, supplementing the team’s existing strengths. And support the development of the team’s data driven approach to projects.
