Teaching Assistant – Part time at Cygnet

Cygnet Forestwood School:

Forestwood School is the specialist provider of education for all young people admitted to Cygnet Bury Forestwood. Learning happens in a dedicated school unit which includes an ICT suite, library and quiet room. Teaching is provided by a team of subject specialists and experienced classroom support assistants.

Your Day-to-Day…

• Assist the teacher with learning activities in the classroom
• Contribute, if requested, to the formulation of individual education plans
• Prepare & organise teaching resources 
• Checking and& maintain classroom equipment & materials
• Assist with the physical management of equipment
• Support the management of students’ behaviour within the school’s agreed policies
• General supervision duties & helping the teacher in designated tasks.

• Experienced in working with children & young people
• An excellent people person with both adults & children
• Dedicated to the success of the students, the team & the school
• A good written & verbal communicator 
• Flexible, energetic, adaptable & able to use initiative
• Enthusiastic about working with a range of pupils with differing needs & abilities
• Professional, conscientious & an effective team player 
•  The holder of at least five GCSEs at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C) including English & Maths.
