    Transport Operations Manager - Westbury Inbound Logistics

    The successful candidate will be an integral part of our Inbound Logistics team,  overseeing the running of our milk collection operation at our Westbury depot. Managing a team of 75 staff, 3 team leaders, a driver trainer and a transport coordinator, we are looking for somebody with a strong proven track record of people management and somebody who is passionate about the development of inbound logistics strategies and business plans.

    • Responsible for and managing the operations budget for the transport centre of around £11million per annum.
    • Management of the collection of around 390 million litres of milk per annum from 300 farms and delivery to destinations around the UK.
    • Responsible for building a people focused safety culture at the depot, whilst ensuring excellent service levels.
    • Responsible for forecast, quality, risk and resource optimisation in the transport department.
    • Creates and ensures cooperation with key stakeholders – dairies, farmer owners, member relations and inbound logistics peers.

    What will make you successful

    • We are looking for a proven, resilient leader with a proven track record in transport operations, planning and logistics. You will combine technical expertise with excellent communication skills and a passion for continuous improvement. Somebody who can can demonstrate the ability to lead a large team within a high paced, agile fresh operation.
    • To succeed in this role, you will have a minimum 5 years of experience within management preferably from a logistics or transport company, experience with leading milk collection transport operations is an advantage. A CPC qualification is required.
