    Graduate - Engineering Technical

    What You’ll Be Doing

    Being part of our technical team in engineering means one thing: you’ll be at the heart of ensuring our aircraft are safe and reliable. Across rotational placements, you’ll be exposed to a breadth of projects that drives engineering to be market-leaders in aviation.

    With a fleet of over 250 aircraft, you’ll find yourself tackling a mix of new and old technology on our aircraft. You could be influencing the roll out of our new business class seats; inspecting a new aircraft after delivery; or being part of our largest cabin design for the new Boeing 777-X.

    You will apply your technical knowledge to influence real life multi-million pound decisions from day one, making a tangible impact on the business as your recommendations will drive key business decisions and your projects will deliver reliable aircraft that is leading edge to keep our aircraft flying for the longest timespan.

    Engineering Supply Chain

    The programme

    You’ll work alongside and learn from some incredible people who support our engineering operation around the globe. Every day, you’ll develop your skills in a worldwide logistics operation, shipping aircraft components to our UK maintenance bases and overseas line stations. Over a series of placements, you’ll work in different areas of logistics and inventory management, gaining the experience and know how to help keep materials flowing to our engineers and aircraft. You’re going to be busy. Alongside comprehensive on-the-job training, you’ll be studying towards the qualifications you need to become one of our future Material Suppliers. 

    This is a hands-on role as an Apprentice Material Supplier, based at our London Heathrow base, working on a shift pattern that reflects the 24/7 nature of aviation. You’ll play a key part in making sure our engineers have the right parts at the right time, directly supporting aircraft maintenance and keeping our operation moving. 

    About You

    We are looking for a strong teammate and above all, strong self-motivation. 3 GCSE’s including English and Maths GCSE at grade 9-4 (A*-C) is desirable but not crucial. 

    A strong communicator with an awareness for safety, a self-starter and the ability to adapt to change. Above all, a genuine passion for engineering and aviation.

    Business Placement - Future Leader

    What You’ll Be Doing

    Over the course of this 11-month programme, we will help you to develop an enviable set of skills in a placement aligned to your studies, career aspiration and development needs.  You will also gain exposure to different business areas and have involvement and responsibility for projects and work that will impact our business.

    We’re open to your fresh ideas and different perspective. You’ll be asked to challenge our current thinking and look for ways to improve on existing processes – enabling us to work faster, and more efficiently.

    You’ll have the chance to work with people at all levels of the organisation, from graduates to senior leaders. This placement is all about making things happen through working with others. At the same time, you’ll get to build networks with both our business placement and graduate communities.

    You’ll grow in confidence, develop technical skills and increase your corporate/office understanding.  All of which will be excellent for increasing your future employability and progress in your leadership journey.

    • A predicted 2:2 degree, or equivalent, in any subject.

    Graduate - Planning and Supply Chain

    What You’ll Be Doing

    Through a series of placements, you’ll get under the skin of the strategic planning that makes our engineering function tick. With a large fleet of over 250 aircraft, you’ll have a breadth of exposure to our incredible operation.

    A big challenge of the role is managing the huge volumes of suppliers we work with to ensure we have the right parts in the right place at the right time, anywhere in the world enabling the smooth running of our operation.

    You could be organising the maintenance schedules for both our short haul and long haul aircraft; developing the long term strategy of maintenance considering efficiency, cost, time and quality of how we do things; or delivering projects around which aircraft we are entering and exiting in the business.

    • A minimum of a 2:2 degree, or equivalent, in any subject (achieved or expected).
    • The drive to succeed, with the ability to think both creatively and strategically.

    NDT Workshop

    The programme

    You’ll earn your stripes working alongside some of the best Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) engineers in the industry. They’ll help you to develop your engineering skills, whilst carrying out aircraft and components inspections on aircraft in the ‘ramp’ and ‘hangar’ as well as components in our technical workshops. You’ll be learning different skills, inspection techniques and processes so you understand the nature of a highly sophisticated engineering discipline. Every day will feel new, and you’re going to be busy. As well as training on the job, you’ll be studying for the qualifications you need to become one of our future approved NDT Technicians. 

    You will be based at London Heathrow and training will be delivered by Lavender International,  you will study three NDT methods at Level 2 (Personnel Certification in Non-Destructive Testing), including at least one complex method, working towards your Level 3 Technician Apprenticeship. You will also gain on the job training with the Engineering NDT department at Heathrow, working alongside our specialist NDT engineers supporting the British Airways operation. 

    The apprenticeship focuses on Quality Assurance, Health and Safety, Project Management and Leadership, as well as providing the ability to apply inspection techniques in three methods, selecting appropriate methods of inspection and understanding their limitations as well as producing NDT data reports for specialist engineer to determine the appropriate repair scheme. 

    We will also supplement your learning with additional Aircraft related training in Air Legislation, Human Factors and Aircraft composite and structural repairs. 

    About You

    • We are looking for a minimum of a grade 5 (B) in Maths.  English and Science GCSE at grade 9 – 4 (A* - C) is desirable but not crucial (we accept predicted grades but they must be achieved by the apprenticeship. 
    • A strong communicator with an awareness for safety, a self-starter and the ability to adapt to change. Above all, a genuine passion for engineering.

    Aircraft Maintenance Spring 2026

    The programme

    You’ll work alongside and learn from some incredibly talented engineers. Every day, you’ll develop your skills on real aircraft, in a real job. Over a series of placements, you’ll work on all our aircraft fleets, gaining the experience and knowhow to help keep them in perfect working order. You’re going to be busy. As well as comprehensive on-the-job training, you’ll be studying towards the qualifications you need to become one of our future Aircraft Maintenance Technicians. 

    The initial induction to the business for this Apprenticeship will take place at our London Heathrow base. For the majority of the first year, you will then be based off-site and living away from home which is where you will train and study towards your CAA Part-66 Category A Licence Modules under Apprenticeship Standard ST1315 Aircraft Engineering Technician Level 3 (Regulated Route). During your time away from Heathrow, we will provide complimentary accommodation for you close to your training base. 

    For years two and three, you will return to our Heathrow Base to work alongside our engineers with the potential to be placed in one of our other UK operational bases. You’ll continue to study towards CAA Part-66 Category A Licence Modules under Apprenticeship Standard ST1315 Aircraft Engineering Technician Level 3 (Regulated Route) and your End Point Assessment. Please note: For those aged 18 and over when based at Heathrow in years two and three, work will follow a 12-hour shift pattern — days (06:00–18:00), nights (18:00–06:00), or a mix of both — on a 4 on / 4 off rotation. 

    About You
