    Test Lead-Digital

    Position Summary

    • As Test Lead you will enable the creation, translation, and consumption of data-driven insights to help Rolls-Royce, and their customers make better decisions - increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the services that we and our customers deliver. You will support the creation of applications that enable our customers to make better decisions in their everyday activities based on the most accurate and reliable information available.
    • You will work as part of a team that is transforming ideas and concepts into customer solutions. You will be responsible for providing test leadership and contribute to rapid development (iterative and incremental) of applications as part of these solutions.
    • You will be fully conversant in data intensive application development and understand how to apply your skills to responsive and smart applications.

You will also demonstrate a strong creative drive and understanding of what is required from an application to engage and excite a user community.

    What you will be doing:

    • Lead the testing phases conducted by the in-house and supply chain teams, managing all phases of testing, including plans, timescales, test deliverables, and auditability
    • Provide authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of test planning and execution
    • Develop, execute, and report on complex test plans from requirement specifications and refined product backlog items, in accordance with agreed standards
    • Review test results, modifying manual and automated tests where necessary to achieve business outcomes
    • Work closely with the Delivery Manager, Product Owner, technical SMEs and development teams to ensure the right solutions are developed to the highest quality
    • Review and refine requirements, both functional and non-functional, with a shift-left perspective on test to identify issues far in advance.
    • Liaise with customers and the supplier development teams to resolve testing issues
    • Ensure that any risks associated with the system test plan are clearly documented and described to the customers and colleagues
    • Constant consideration for continual improvement and reducing process ‘waste’
    • Quality Assurance oversight of functional, integration, and systems testing of software developed by supply chain development teams
    • Collaborate with other Test Leads to share knowledge and contribute to corporate testing standards and definition of best practice

    Position Qualifications:

    • Comfortable working within all aspects of web and data application development with respect to server side and front-end applications
    • An ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems
    • High level of knowledge and experience in the field of test automation
    • Knowledge and experience of best of breed test tooling and technologies
    • Experienced with the Microsoft toolchain, specifically Visual Studio, Azure DevOps and Git
    • Experienced in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
    • Experience working on projects within the cloud, ideally Azure
    • Skilled communicator, able to engage with colleagues, customers and stakeholders
    • Experience of working in an Agile and DevOps environment, within a self-organising team
    • Experience of providing technical leadership to software testing teams

    Services Analytical Specialist

    Position Summary:

    • We are offering a challenging and rewarding position to support the Data & Information team in Service Operations. The Data & Information team works with Big Data and Digital Technologies to give our customers greater control of their operations. Through actionable intelligence, we empower our customers to make the shift from reactive, rapid-response operations, to become more efficient, better at-risk management, a better planned and predictable business.
    • The primary role of the EHM Diagnostic Network team is to respond rapidly to emerging product issues by developing & implementing new analytics, or by configuring existing live EHM techniques to allow containment of those issues.
    • The Engine Health Monitoring (EHM) Services Analytical Engineer role is dedicated to ensuring the team delivers service continuity and continuous service improvement for our customers. Through maintaining our data supply chain and improving our service modelling we detect and action potential and actual in-service events without impacting our customers. This position will be focused on maintaining the data supply chain and configuration of our EHM system which allows 24x7 monitoring of Rolls-Royce assets in service.

    What you will be doing, Role and Responsibilities:

    The EHM Services Analytical Engineer’s accountabilities include: 

    • Rapidly design, configure & deploy EHM solutions to support the service and improve its effectiveness

    • Capture requirements for EHM improvements through Value Delivery Board, Project Zero and any other relevant forums.

    • Work with customers to enhance the value of EHM services and identify future EHM opportunities

    • Provide requirements for, testing of, and support to the implementation of the new EHM platform

    • Work with other teams to share and evolve best practices for design and configuration of the EHM toolset

    Skills and Experience requirements:

    • An Engineering, Data Science, or IT based degree or relevant experience

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, focused on results, able to work under pressure, equally capable of managing short term deadlines and long-term projects

    • Strong IT user & configuration skills (to include applications such as SQL, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, Tableau, Power BI)

    • Team player with ability to work independently and demonstrated ability to deliver to time, cost, and quality

    • Broad understanding of EHM Service techniques, value, and customer satisfaction drivers
