    Senior Product Designer – Industrial Products

    This is a senior-level industrial product design role within a Product Design Innovation team responsible for developing future product ranges for industrial applications.

    You will lead design projects from early research through to production-ready concepts, balancing creativity with commercial and manufacturing realities. This is a role for someone who enjoys responsibility, influence, and delivering real outcomes.

    What youll be doing

    • Leading the design of new industrial products and product ranges
    • Identifying innovation opportunities through collaboration across the business
    • Managing multiple design projects from concept through to manufacture
    • Using prototyping and 3D printing to validate ideas early
    • Presenting concepts clearly to senior stakeholders
    • Ensuring designs align with business objectives, cost, and manufacturing constraints
    • Mentoring and supporting junior designers within the team
    • Challenging conventional thinking while keeping designs commercially viable

    What youll need

    • Degree or Masters in Industrial Design or Product Design
    • Minimum 5 years industry experience
    • A strong portfolio showing commercially successful manufactured products
    • Advanced SolidWorks and 2D/3D design capability
    • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques
    • Confidence presenting and defending design decisions
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and critical timelines
    • A calm, adaptable approach with natural leadership presence

    Senior Design Engineer - Fabrication

    Are you an experienced Senior Design Engineer looking to take your skills to the next level?

    We are looking for a talented and motivated engineer to join our growing team at a leading high-precision Fabrication company specialising in composites, Sheet metal and flexible materials.

    In this role, you will:

    • Collaborate with a diverse range of clients across various industries, including machine tools, nuclear, medical devices, and material handling.
    • Translate customer requirements into manufacturable designs that meet strict specifications.
    • Act as a consultative engineer, proposing solutions, alternative designs, and recommendations.
    • Utilise your expertise in welding principles, geometric tolerance, and detailed drawing creation.
    • Manage product Bills of Materials (BOM) within the company's ERP system and liaise with purchasing.
    • Work closely with the Engineering Manager to ensure designs meet deadlines, legislative guidelines, and environmental regulations.
    • Provide hands-on support during the introduction of new and existing products in manufacturing.

    To be successful, you will need:

    • A degree in an engineering discipline or an HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering.
    • A strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and product costing.
    • Experience working in a small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) environment.
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks, Sheet Metal Design software, and a PDM system.
    • Experience with LVD and Amada Press brake software (a plus).
    • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and decision-making skills.
    • The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation.

    We offer:

    • Depending on Experience, the salary ranges between £40k and £45k.
