    Research Intern-Computer Vision

    Job Summary

    • The Device Vision Team at Huawei UKRD in London is looking for Research Interns with experience in VLMs. The team is committed to solving challenging computer vision problems and developing efficient, ultra-low-power solutions that enable the next generation of smart devices to function as a universal AI assistant.
    • The research intern will conduct academic research with us for a minimum of six months. They will aim to advance the state-of-the-art in VLMs with top-tier conference publications and will collaboratively work with other team members on related research and applications in the company.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Leading and participating in cutting-edge research projects, focusing on VLMs.
    • Devising, prototyping and patenting innovative solutions in collaboration with product teams.
    • Build benchmarks/baselines using public datasets.
    • Publish research papers at top-tier CV/ML/AI conferences and/or journals
    • External engagement: drafting academic publications and patents.

    Robotics Research Engineer (PAYE Contractor)

    • Huawei UKRD is seeking exceptional candidates to pursue research in various aspects of robot learning, reinforcement learning and imitation learning.
    • The successful applicant is expected to develop novel contributions allowing the field to move forward in getting it a step closer towards real-world robots.
    • Key research questions include but are not limited to real-robot deployment of embodied AI, behavior synthesis from natural language, and foundation models for robots. This is an exceptional opportunity for research while collaborating with a diverse team with backgrounds ranging from robotics, control/planning theory, reinforcement learning to probability and game theory.
    • These positions involve theoretical advances and aim to apply innovations in the real world.
