    Senior Specialist, Production Systems

Spotify is building the future of spoken-word production at global scale. We sit at the intersection of content, operations, and technology — designing systems that power audiobook creation, translation, and delivery across markets. We collaborate closely with engineering, product, content, and external partners to continuously improve quality, efficiency, and innovation in how audiobooks are made.
    What You'll Do

    • Architect and evolve scalable production systems for audiobook and translation workflows, leveraging emerging technologies and automation
    • Define and monitor production benchmarks such as cost per finished hour (PFH), vendor mix, time to market, and delivery performance
    • Deliver a defined portfolio of audiobook productions annually while continuously improving operational efficiency
    • Proactively forecast production needs and adapt workflows to changing priorities, formats, and global expansion
    • Design and implement end-to-end workflows for long-form translations, including manuscript preparation, AI-assisted translation, human QA, and audio production
    • Establish and codify quality evaluation frameworks for audio (pronunciation accuracy, pacing, QC thresholds) and translations (accuracy, review standards), driving measurable improvements over time
    • Build orchestrated systems across preprocessing, model configuration, post-processing, and QA automation that outperform default AI-generated outputs
    • Stay current on the capabilities and limitations of digital voice and translation technologies and translate insights into scalable production improvements

    Who You Are

    • 5+ years of experience in audio production, post-production, or multimedia operations
    • You think in systems and patterns and naturally design automation when you see repetition
    • You are experienced with audio production workflows, including editing, mixing, and mastering
    • You have working knowledge of synthetic or AI-generated audio systems and their APIs (e.g., ElevenLabs, Play.ht, Descript, or similar tools)
    • You are comfortable experimenting with new tools and iterating quickly based on data and feedback
    • You communicate clearly across creative, operational, and technical stakeholders and can influence cross-functional decision-making
    • You are endlessly curious and motivated by continuous improvement
    • You demonstrate ownership, accountability, and sound judgment in ambiguous or evolving environments

    Where You'll Be

    • This role is based in London.
    • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.

    Backend Engineer - User Fraud

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to join the User Fraud studio’s Eraser squad. Our mission is simple, yet critical: make fraud a bad deal for bad actors. We protect creators, listeners, and the platform by raising attacker costs, lowering rewards, and shortening attack windows.

Eraser is a distributed team of backend and data engineers across Europe. We build and operate a mitigation platform that detects and responds to fraudulent and abusive behavior at scale. Our primary partners are fraud detection teams, and we also collaborate across multiple missions to help keep Spotify safe and trusted.

    What You'll Do

    • Build, deploy, and operate backend (Java) services that mitigate fraud and abuse at scale
    • Collaborate closely with data engineers and work with Spotify’s data tech stack (Scala, Scio, Google Dataflow)
    • Evolve a distributed mitigation platform used by internal fraud detection teams
    • Design APIs, workflows, and system safeguards that protect legitimate users while reducing attacker impact
    • Improve system reliability, scalability, and observability using metrics, logs, and tracing
    • Partner with engineering teams across Europe and the US to integrate mitigation capabilities into broader systems
    • Contribute to strong engineering practices including code reviews, documentation, and incident learnings

    Who You Are

    • You have 2+ years of experience designing, building, and operating backend services in production environments
    • You are experienced with APIs, distributed systems, and service-to-service communication
    • You have a strong understanding of data modeling and working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
    • You care about system reliability, scalability, and operational excellence
    • You use metrics, logging, and monitoring to understand and improve system behavior
    • You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
    • You’re curious about trust, safety, fraud, or adversarial problem spaces

    Where You'll Be

    • This role is based in Stockholm or London
    • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
