Intern - Quality Engineer at Honeywell

Job Summary:

• As a Quality Engineer Intern at Honeywell, in Southend, you will gain hands-on experience and contribute to our commitment to quality excellence. You will support our quality engineering team in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
• This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell.  This internship is set up for 12 months to cover a sandwich placement starting in Summer 2026, with the opportunity for a permanent opportunity once you graduate in 2028.

Key responsibilities:

You will work closely with experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience within a friendly and supportive team to be trained to achieve the following:

• This role focuses on the manufacturing of electrical products for the Building Automation industry
• Involvement on continuous improvement of Kaizan and Pokayoke initiatives 
• impact the quality assurance processes by assisting in audits, analysing quality metrics, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
• Assist in conducting quality audits to identify areas for improvement.
• Support the analysis of quality metrics and trends to drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

Key skills and qualifications:

• Currently studying a sandwich course degree in mechanical engineering, process engineering or manufacturing, requiring an industrial placement starting in 2026, graduating in 2028
• Experience in quality engineering or related fields, (this can be from the workplace, your studies or a hobby)
• Familiarity with quality management systems and methodologies, (this can be from the workplace, your studies or a hobby)
• Some exposure in data analytics, (this can be from the workplace, your studies or a hobby)
• Business level written and verbal communication skills in the English language
• Can commute with ease to our Southend office
