    International Development Officer

    About the role

    There is an exciting opportunity to join the International Office at the University of Sunderland as an International Development Officer recruiting international students from around the world. You’ll be based in a collaborative environment that values innovation, adaptability, inclusiveness, and service excellence. Every team member plays a key role in achieving the University’s international recruitment and partnership targets, contributing to life-changing educational opportunities for students globally.

    The post offers overseas travel, involvement in international campaigns, and the chance to represent the University at fairs, agent events, and global education networks such as the British Council.

    You will work closely with colleagues from our campus in Sunderland and London as well as partners and students worldwide. In a competitive and changing environment we welcome new ideas and a flexible approach with the emphasis on team working as well as agent, partner and student relationship management.

    You will support the team to develop and market to specific regional recruitment areas, leading to student conversion to one of our campuses and achieving our International Recruitment targets. The successful candidate will also have responsibility to undertake development work within a specific territory, which would include student recruitment, study abroad and TNE.

    What you can bring 

    • The successful candidate will have experience of working in marketing or recruitment to international audiences, ideally within higher education or a similar global environment. This role will be based within one of our regional teams and will work predominantly in the Americas and Europe, with possible other markets depending on business need
    • Strong understanding of digital marketing and Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM) tools, including lead conversion and engagement strategies.
    • The main roles will be to plan strategies for the regions of responsibility and then execute those alongside colleagues in the UK and our overseas regional teams using a range of activities.
    • Faculty liaison will form part of the role. Flexible working and overseas travel are essential.
