Interspace Mechanical Layout and Installations Manager at Rolls-Royce

We are looking for a Manager – Interspace Mechanical Layout & Installations to lead the design and delivery of the Interspace mechanical layout for the Reactor Island. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Containment Layout & Installation, you will drive team leadership, technical integration and delivery planning across a diverse, multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Key Deliverables 

We’ll need you to:

• Lead a team of Layout and Installation Engineers to deliver the Interspace mechanical layout.
• Recruit, manage and develop your team, providing coaching on technical and governance matters.
• Define delivery strategy using inputs from Civils, Architecture, E3S, Human Factors, Systems and Supply Chain.
• Own the integrated plan for cost, schedule and quality delivery.
• This role offers the opportunity to influence a complex area of the SMR design, combining leadership, integration and technical insight to drive high‑quality engineering delivery.

Essential Skills / Qualifications 

• Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience in layout, installation or mechanical integration within complex engineering environments.
• Proven leadership capability with experience developing engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• We’ll ask about your experience defining delivery strategies and managing multi‑disciplinary inputs.

Location 

• Hybrid working with regular attendance at our Derby, Manchester or Warrington offices depending on project and team requirements.
