    Junior IT&D Buyer

    About the role

Reckitt is seeking an astute Buyer – NPS to strategically manoeuvre through the procurement landscape, ensuring our teams have everything they need to excel. You will fine-tune procurement activities across vital categories, guaranteeing efficient, cost-effective supply chains that drive Reckitt's continued success.     Your responsibilities

    Individuals in this position will be responsible for the following:

    Commercial IT&D due diligence:

    • An understanding of application development solutions as far as key drivers for costs are known and how to control these in line with agile, waterfall or hybrid methodologies.
    • Ability to conduct market research and or influence others to ensure that an auditable and logical approach has been taken to identify appropriate sourcing options for IT&D solutions.
    • Familiar with the risks associated with IT&D sourcing and how to identify and mitigate these using commercial levers during a procurement process

    Technology procurement strategy:

    • Apply the Global IT&D procurement strategy that is aligned with the overall corporate IT&D and business strategy priorities and translate due diligence into a negotiation strategy.
    • Drive collection of any missing details needed to ensure that the negotiation strategy addresses all critical gaps with planned outcomes that have been pre-agreed by IT&D and business stakeholders. 
    • Ensure that future demand and flexibility is secured with any new contracting model proposed in line with IT&D and business stakeholder requirements.
    • Being able to prioritize delivery of outcomes against an agreed risk assessment for contracts against a set timeframe.
    • Develop a thorough understanding of license models to be able to lead the evaluation of optimal sourcing and pricing options to consider with typical IS solution vendors including cloud, on premise and hybrid solutions. 
    • Ability to build informal networks and informal feedback loops for more-effective communication
    • Use of E-procurement, contract management and supplier performance tools.

    Supplier relationship management program:

    • To collaborate with the Third-Party contract management team to ensure renewal process and asset tracking requirements are taken into consideration.
    • How Will Success Be Evaluated?
    • Successful engagement, alignment and contribution to IT&D and business stakeholders
    • Ability to work independently and in collaboration as required to optimize all available resources to deliver against the target dates.
    • Driving commercial strategies that have a clear cost reduction on budget with managed risk to cost increase in the future meeting current and future business objectives.

    The experience we're looking for

    • A bachelor's degree in business or other management discipline, such as law or business studies.
    • A bachelor's degree in engineering or IT&D, and certification by purchasing and supply chain professional bodies, such as the Institute of Supply Management (ISM) or the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).

    Experience

    • Two or more years in a procurement role is expected, with some experience in Technology Procurement or category manager preferable
    • Other functional experience, particularly in IT&D, is beneficial
    • A demonstrated ability to achieve results.
    • Someone who has a keen interest in IT&D and has developed an effective Technology Procurement strategy for two or more IT&D projects.
    • Legal experience, with some experience in Technology contracts, is preferable.
    • Thorough understanding of a robust procurement process and an ability and confidence to guide others in fulfilling this.
