    Reactor Island Holistic Layout Manager

    We are seeking a Manager – Reactor Island Holistic Layout to lead the delivery of island‑level layout design and the integration of installations across the Reactor Island. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Reactor Island Layout & Installations, this role combines people leadership, technical direction and process improvement to support a major engineering programme.

    Key Deliverables 

    We’ll need you to:

    • Lead a team of Layout and Installation Engineers to deliver the integrated Reactor Island layout.
    • Drive process improvements, tooling capability and configuration for RI layouts and installations.
    • Represent RI Holistic Layout in cross‑functional design reviews.
    • Recruit, coach and develop team members, ensuring high performance and strong technical governance.
    • This role offers the chance to influence one of the most complex areas of the SMR design, bringing strong leadership, integration skills and technical insight to a growing programme.

    Essential Skills / Qualifications 

    • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
    • Experience in layout, installation or mechanical integration within complex engineering environments.
    • Ability to lead, mentor and develop engineering teams.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary functions.
    • We’ll ask about your experience delivering layout solutions and driving process improvements.

    Location 

    • Hybrid working with regular attendance at our Derby, Manchester or Warrington offices depending on team and project needs.

    What’s in it for you? 

    • Salary £57,600–£75,600 DOE
    • 12.5% bonus
