    Academic Course Leader - Next Gen (Sports Business) - Manchester City Sports Business School

    Please note, this is a short-term academic consultancy appointment.

    You will be required to commit to attendance at 2 pre-programme onsite meetings in June and 2-week onsite programme delivery 27 July – 7 August 2026 at City Football Academy (Monday – Friday, no weekends).

    About the Next Gen Programme

    • Manchester City’s Next Gen is a two-week immersive pre-university experience designed for ambitious students aged 14–17 from around the world.
    • Delivered at the City Football Academy in Manchester, the programme introduces participants to the global sports business industry through interactive workshops, applied learning, industry insight, and real-world case studies drawn from the City Football Group ecosystem.
    • Next Gen blends academic exploration with exposure to how modern sports organisations operate across areas such as football operations, marketing, fan engagement, media, commercial strategy, and leadership.
    • We are seeking an Academic Course Leader to design and deliver the Sports Business learning experience across the two-week programme.

    The Role and Your Impact

    • This is a short-term academic consultancy role embedded within City Football Group’s Football Education team.
    • The Academic Course Leader will act as the subject-matter expert for Sports Business, bringing specialist knowledge and delivery expertise that complements the existing programme team.

    You will:

    • Design and deliver engaging workshops across a two-week immersive programme
    • Develop structured session plans and learning materials tailored to ages 14–17
    • Facilitate applied learning activities and group projects
    • Integrate guest speakers and industry insight into a cohesive academic journey
    • Work alongside the Head of Business Development and Operations Manager to ensure smooth delivery
    • Contribute to a high-energy, inclusive, and industry-informed learning environment

    This role is distinct from operational or residential positions and is focused specifically on academic leadership, subject expertise, and student learning experience.

    The consultancy agreement is inclusive of:

    • All curriculum design and preparation
    • Attendance at up to 2 onsite pre-programme planning meetings in June
    • Two-week in-person programme delivery in July

    What We’re Looking For

    Essential

    • Experience delivering engaging short-course or immersive education programmes
    • Strong subject-matter expertise in sports business, football business, or related industry areas
    • Confident facilitator able to engage international students aged 14–17
    • Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
    • Ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced programme delivery environment

    Desirable

    • Professional experience within the sports industry or football ecosystem
    • Experience delivering summer schools or pre-university programmes
    • Experience working alongside operational delivery teams
    • Familiarity with LMS platforms (e.g. Canvas)

    Programme Support Officer - Manchester City Summer Programme

    Please note, this role supports a summer residential programme during 25 June – 8 August 2026. To be considered, it is essential that you can attend a recruitment day on Sunday 29 March at City Football Academy.

    This is a non-residential role, supporting the safe supervision and movement of participants at City Football Academy during daytime hours only. Weekend work may be required to support excursions.

    About the Summer Residential Programme

    Manchester City’s Summer Residential Programme welcomes young people from around the world for an immersive football, education, and cultural experience delivered at the City Football Academy and supported by high-quality residential provision.

    The Role

    • The Programme Support Officer plays a key role in supporting the safe supervision and movement of participants during daytime programme hours. The role focuses on maintaining appropriate supervision ratios during transportation and on campus, supporting participant welfare, and assisting with logistical supervision throughout the day.
    • Programme Support Officers are not responsible for coaching or teaching delivery. Instead, they provide pastoral and supervisory support to ensure participants are safe, accounted for, and supported while moving between locations and during non-coaching periods.
    • The role operates during daytime hours only.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Supervise participants during daily transport between accommodation sites and the Etihad Campus, ensuring appropriate staff-to-participant ratios are maintained.
    • Provide on-campus supervision throughout the day, acting as a visible and approachable point of contact for participants.
    • Support participant welfare, responding appropriately to minor medical issues or concerns and escalating where required.
    • Support the supervision of participants during weekend excursions, ensuring participant safety at all times.
    • Work collaboratively with coaches, residential staff, and programme leads to support smooth programme delivery.
    • Communicate incidents, concerns, or key updates promptly to senior staff.
    • Maintain professional conduct, appropriate boundaries, and confidentiality at all times.
    • Represent Manchester City and City Football Group values through professional behaviour.

    What We’re Looking For

    Essential

    • Experience working with children or young people in a supervisory or support capacity.
    • Strong sense of responsibility with the ability to manage groups and maintain supervision ratios.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Calm, professional, and reliable approach.
    • Willingness to work daytime shifts and occasional weekends as required.

     Desirable

    • Experience in a school, camp, sports, or youth setting.
    • First aid or safeguarding training.
    • Experience supporting group travel or excursions.
    • Interest in football or sports programmes.

    Duty Manager / Residential Supervisor - Manchester City Summer Programme

    Please note, these roles support a summer residential programme during 25 June – 8 August 2026. To be considered, it is compulsory that you attend a recruitment day on Sunday 29 March at City Football Academy.

    You will be required to live onsite at the residential accommodation. You will be fully catered for.
    About the Summer Residential Programme

    • Manchester City’s Summer Residential Programme welcomes young people from around the world for an immersive football, education, and cultural experience delivered at the City Football Academy and supported by high-quality residential provision.

    The Roles

    • To support the delivery of this programme, we are recruiting Residential Programme Staff to join our onsite residential team. These roles play an important part in creating a safe, welcoming and well-organised environment for all participants throughout their stay.
    • You will join the residential team supporting the accommodation environment during evenings, nights and weekends, ensuring participants are safe, engaged and well supported.

    There are two roles available:

    • Duty Manager – supporting the operational coordination and delivery of the residential programme.
    • Residential Supervisor – providing direct supervision, pastoral care and day-to-day support for participants.
    • Candidates will be considered for the role that best matches their experience and skills as part of the recruitment day.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Residential Programme Staff support the delivery of a high-quality residential experience for all participants.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Supporting the welfare, wellbeing and safeguarding of participants at all times
    • Supervising residential accommodation and ensuring safe participant movement across the site
    • Supporting daily routines including meals, activities, wakeups and curfews
    • Delivering and supervising evening activities and supporting weekend excursions
    • Maintaining accurate records of attendance, incidents and welfare matters
    • Working collaboratively with the wider residential and programme team to ensure smooth daily operations
    • Representing Manchester City and City Football Group through professional conduct and positive engagement with participants

    For more experienced candidates, responsibilities also include:

    • Supporting the coordination of residential operations and logistics
    • Assisting with staff rotas and duty management
    • Leading evening activities and weekend excursions
    • Acting as a first point of contact for participant welfare concerns
    • Supporting programme administration, reporting and communication with the wider programme team

    • Experience working with children or young people in a pastoral, supervisory or educational environment
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • A responsible and professional approach to participant welfare and safeguarding
    • Ability to remain calm, organised and solution-focused in a busy environment
    • A collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team
    • Willingness to live onsite and work flexible shifts including evenings, nights and weekends during programme delivery

    Desirable 

    • Experience within a residential, boarding, camp or sports environment
    • Experience supervising staff or coordinating teams
    • Experience working with international groups of young people
    • Safeguarding, first aid or youth work qualifications
    • An interest in football, sport or education programmes
