    Graduate Structural Engineer - Evolve

    Our graduate roles are real, genuine roles in our teams – you will play an important part in providing exceptional service to our clients and be exposed to a lot more client activity than you may be at the bigger consultancies.     Our projects include large residential, industrial, and commercial schemes with contract values over £30 million to smaller schemes and working for interesting clients including motor manufacturers, Schools/Universities, healthcare providers, contractors, developers etc.
    What you need to do to be effective in this role

    • Produce structural engineering work packages from initial concept through to completion
    • Produce calculations packages for Building Control submission
    • Undertake survey inspections and produce written reports in good English on findings, set out in a logical manner with appropriate recommendations
    • Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
    • Represent the company at external meetings with clients, contractors, and fellow professionals
    • Deliver work to a fee and to timescales agreed
    • Prepare client / project proposals
    • Agree design philosophy / design fundamentals
    • The skills and experience you need to have for this role
    • Accredited civil or structural engineering degree or higher educational qualification (HNC/HND)
    • Right to Work in the UK, without requiring visa sponsorship
    • Some experience of drawing packages such as Revit, AutoCAD and Bluebeam would be an advantage

    Apprentice Structural Engineer

    Your opportunity

    • If you’re ready to launch a meaningful career in Structural Engineering, applications are now open for an Apprentice Structural Engineer to join our Autumn 2026 ELEVATE apprenticeship programme.  We are open to considering candidates for either the L4 or L6 apprenticeship.
    • As part of our ELEVATE degree apprenticeship programme you benefit from a permanent contract and salary while you work towards a degree that we fund. Your first two years with us follows a structured programme giving you the perfect blend of education, hands-on experience and professional development.
    • Our Structural Engineers assist in the provision of a wide range of structural engineering services. The projects we work on include a variety of large complex schemes through to smaller local client focussed tasks. We work both in the UK and internationally with interesting clients including F1 Teams, airports, schools/universities, contractors, developers and local authorities.

    Duties will include:

    • Assisting with structural engineering work packages from initial concept through to completion
    • Assisting with calculations packages for Building Control submission

    • I will be 18+ when my apprenticeship starts in September 2026
    • I’m able to start work full time from 7 September 2026
    • I have a permanent Right to Work in the UK and do not need visa sponsorship
    • I am willing and able to regularly attend my home office in person and travel to a training provider on a weekly basis
    • I am curious and eager to learn
    • I am passionate about the Built Environment — don’t take this one lightly! We love what we do and the Built Environment plays a vital role in the future of communities and society. It’s important we all share that passion so we can build legacies that last.

    Entry requirements:

    • Level    Entry Requirements (on joining)
    • Level 4 (HNC)     
    • A Levels EEE - must include Maths (excluding General Studies) and preferably a Science - Chemistry or Physics
    • or T Level (pass or above) in Construction: Design, Surveying and Planning
    • or BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma MPP in an Engineering subject area (must include Mathematics and Further Mathematics)
    • or Building Services Engineering Technician Level 3 apprenticeship MP alongside grade Pass or Distinction at EPA
    • and 5 GCSEs C/4 including Maths and English or equivalent
    • Level 6 (Degree)    
    • A Levels BBB - must include Maths (excluding General Studies) and preferably a Science - Chemistry or Physics
    • or BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma DDM in an Engineering subject area, with a minimum of merit in Mathematics and Further Mathematics
    • or Building Services Engineering Technician Level 3 apprenticeship DD alongside grade Pass or Distinction at EPA
    • and 5 GCSEs C/4 including Maths and English or equivale

    Professional Support

    • We’ll make sure you’re able to put your learning into practice through valuable hands-on professional work
    • To support your development and academic success, your line manager will focus on providing you learning opportunities while ensuring your work schedule allows enough time for your studies
    • Regular meetings will be held with your apprenticeship provider and line manager to monitor your progress and make sure everything is going to plan
    • The Ridge Future Talent team are apprenticeship specialists and are always on hand to offer advice and support. They’ll be in close touch with your education provider to make sure that we are all on track
    • Once you’ve achieved your accredited degree, we’ll continue to offer you support and guidance to become qualified through our internal network of ‘chartership champions’. Depending on your discipline, you may achieve your chartership at the End Point Assessment (EPA) of your Apprenticeship, or there may be additional post-apprenticeship learning requirements before you become fully qualified.
    • Technical learning
    • We have a full timetable of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, such as webinars, short courses and masterclasses, to enhance your skills in focused areas
    • You’ll be allocated an experienced and knowledgeable mentor to be your trusted advisor throughout your programme

    Graduate Mechanical Engineer - Evolve

    • Working as part of a design team delivering detailed design
    • Using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) and BIM (Revit) software and other resources to design the systems required for the project
    • Designing site-specific equipment as required
    • Liaising closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors of in-house and external project teams
    • Attending a range of project group and technical meetings
    • Ensuring that the design and maintenance of building systems meets legislative and health and safety requirements
    • Advising clients and architects on energy use and conservation in a range of buildings and sites, aiming to minimise the environmental impact and reduce the carbon footprint

    The skills and experience you need to have for this role
