Reporting to the Internal Communications Manager, this role plays a key part in bringing Screwfix’s internal communications to life. You’ll help shape and manage our digital communications channels day to day, creating engaging content that connects colleagues to what matters most and keeps everyone informed, involved, and inspired.
Working in partnership with stakeholders across the business, you’ll support the delivery of impactful people communication campaigns, turning key messages into stories that resonate. From planning content to driving projects forward, you’ll help make sure every communication feels clear, relevant, and meaningful.

Responsibilities
- Develop and create compelling content for internal channels including e-newsletters, the intranet, digital screens, posters and Viva Engage making sure messages are clear, concise and aligned to our tone of voice and brand.
- Support the Internal Communications Manager with delivering and supporting the wider communications plan activities and events.
- Work on agreed briefs from stakeholders, making sure everyone is aligned to deliver people communications campaigns across L&D, Wellness, Benefits, I&D,
- Deliver the communications elements of campaigns from planning through to creative development, stakeholder engagement, implementation and evaluation, ensuring activity achieves measurable outcomes across audiences
- Manage and own the creation and delivery of the annual colleague calendar, working with stakeholders to secure the right content, maintain timelines and ensure a smooth rollout.
- Produce highquality, engaging materials across print and digital platforms, including written content, videos, and branded merchandise..
- Take ownership of production timelines, briefing and working with suppliers to ensure materials are delivered on time, within budget and to specification.
- Act as a trusted communications advisor, providing guidance, recommendations and support stakeholders to help communications land effectively.
- Continually monitor the performance of communications using insights and analytics to improve engagement and increase the reach and effectiveness.
- Monitor the communications and engagement inbox and sharing relevant information with the team to support timely responses and action.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in internal communications, PR, marketing communications or design for digital and print.
- Excellent written and verbal skills with an ability to adapt to different audiences and channels.
- Experience in artworking or design – preferably InDesign and Photoshop – with demonstrable skills – desirable, can be trained if required.
- Creative flair with great ideas and vision.
- Experience filming and video editing skills – desirable, can be trained if required.
- Experience using Microsoft SharePoint – desirable, can be trained if required.
- Ability to juggle a number of tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Resilient and adaptable to change and pace.
- Good planning and organisational skills.
- Experience using Office tools (e.g. PowerPoint, excel, word etc.)
