    Principal Functional Safety Engineer

    Description

    • Provide comprehensive functional safety lifecycle management to ensure project compliance with both client and Wood specifications, as well as applicable codes, regulations, and national/international standards.
    • Serve as the project focal point on Functional Safety for project definition, development, and execution.
    • Prepare or review key functional safety documentation, including the Functional Safety Plan, Functional Safety Management Procedures, Safety Requirements Specifications, SIS Impact Analysis, SIL Calculations, Emergency Depressurization and Blowdown Specifications, as well as SIL Verification and Validation Procedures.
    • Manage functional safety assessments, audits, security risk assessments and independent verification of lifecycle deliverables.
    •  Utilise ExSILentia software for managing functional safety lifecycle activities.
    • Track and control project manhours for functional safety activities.
    • Conduct SIS verification and validation reviews according to project standards.
    • Oversee integration of safety systems and ensure project compliance with IEC 61511.
    • Ensure operator is supplied with the required documentation to allow the systems to be operated and maintained properly.
    • Participate as functional safety expert in HAZOP / CHAZOP activities.
    • Participate in Deterministic SIL Workshops as C&I Engineer.
    • Knowledge of modelling of complex SIS Loops using FTA (Isograph).
    • Develop, review and approve SIS Proof Test Procedures for end-to-end testing of SIF Loops.
    • Coordinate with other disciplines in the preparation and development of the functional safety deliverables and ensure that other disciplines' input is incorporated.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in chemical or instrumentation engineering.
    • CFSE or TUV FS certified engineer.
    • Significant experience in Brownfield upgrades / replacement automation and control projects.
    • Knowledge of IEC 62443 and cybersecurity as applicable to functional safety is desirable.
    • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively to manage multiple projects running concurrently.
    • Hand on experience with ExSILentia and/or aeShield software.

    Our Principal Renewable Energy Consultants (PRECs) project manage a portfolio of due diligence assignments, assessing renewable energy projects on behalf of our clients. Through a collaborative approach with multi-discipline teams, the PREC will produce a professional and detailed report exacting the client’s requirements.

    Responsibilities

    Participates as a team member in a specific phase of a broad engineering assignment. 

    • Directs preparation of appropriate engineering documentation for assigned projects, through conceptual, feasibility, FEED and EPC phases.
    • Ensures successful completion of the assigned project/phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints. 
    • Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work

    Automation Engineer - PSC

    Responsibilities

    The key objectives for this role are: 

    • Identify systems and subsystems with automation or control elements such as PLCs, HMIs, SCADA nodes, and networked instruments that require decommissioning
    • Define boundaries and interfaces with systems that remain operational, including shared cabinets, networks, or interlocks
    • Determine system dependencies and plan modifications needed to maintain the integrity of adjacent systems
    • Participate in the site’s change management process, ensuring automation tasks are risk-assessed and tracked
    • Own and execute assigned automation tasks marking changes within records, maintaining full traceability from start to finish
    • Verify all prerequisites are met and assess potential impacts on other systems before initiating any modifications 
    • Confirm device software and configurations against approved backups, take final backups, and archive them in compliance with data integrity policies
    • Perform controlled software or configuration changes to decouple equipment, documenting all updates under approved change control
    • Execute automation and control system decommissioning pre‑requisites for GxP and non‑GxP equipment, ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance
    • Manage decommissioning of pharmaceutical production equipment, ancillary support systems, and facility plants (excluding HVAC/BMS), along with automated material handling systems
    • Coordinate with site engineering teams to verify dependencies, complete backups/configuration checks, and document all activities in line with site procedures

    Qualifications

    HSE Advisor/Senior HSE Advisor

    Responsibilities

    • Support management with the development and maintaining of a HSE risks and opportunities register within area of responsibility.
    • Establish HSE objectives and targets within area of responsibility ensuring performance indicators are established to monitor actual performance.
    • Lead contract level risk assessment sessions and maintain a HSSE risk register using latest risk management tools.
    • Develop, maintain and communicate an effective HSE Execution Plan and support consistent delivery within area of responsibility.

    • Experience working with CDM and fulfilling Principal Contractor duties.
    • Preferably with some past experience operating in a maintenance environment.

    • Effective/competent MS Office Suite User

    Chief Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

    Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with the I&C Discipline Manager to define the vision, strategy, and long‑term development of the Control and Instrumentation discipline
    • Provide technical leadership, execution support, and governance across all assigned projects

    Construction Engineer - Rotating Mechanical (PSC)

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the  oversight of the installation of all Rotating Equipment ( by Contractor and their supply chain) on the Project through to Completion & Ready for Commissioning Start Up
    • Ensuring that all Mechanical equipment is delivered, installed, tested and commissioned in accordance with the project requirements
    • Review Contractors Method Statements to ensure delivery and quality of construction work packs

    • Assist in expediting responses to Site raised Technical queries
    • Provide oversight in support of the Contractor to contractor vendors when on site and ensure Contractor obtains and issues all vendor close out reports
    • Ensure all Daily / Weekly / Monthly work status reporting is issued in accordance with Contract requirements (by the Contractor)
    • Monitoring Contractors technical compliance and quality standards including raising NCR’s if appropriate
    • Support and Collaborate with the Contractor  engineering design team to ensure Contractor properly implements design change
    • Support Construction schedule from area mechanical construction to system / sub system completion
    • Ensure that Contractor discipline handover documentation / dossiers are complete as per project requirements
    • Coordinating with Contractor on construction walkdowns as part of the mechanical completion process

    Maintenance Build Engineer

    Responsibilities

    • Attend all project kick-off meetings
    • Adhere to client Capital Projects and Internal Modifications Maintenance Build Procedure 
    • Manage all project maintenance build actions in Client Management of Change system (KMS)
    • Responsible for implementation and quality control of project MMS master data for completeness and accuracy i.e. Asset Register, Plant Maintenance module, Materials
