    About the Role  

    • We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis (e.g. job share), despite the position being advertised as full-time.
    • Warwick Business School (WBS) is looking for a Digital Learning Officer. You will bring experience of video production, audio recording and video editing, together with an interest in classroom technologies (such as polls and in-class video assessment tools) and the use of VR and AI for education purposes.
    • In this role, you will have the opportunity to evaluate and develop content, production processes and technologies to ensure the creation of world-class educational content. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a specialist team, working on a variety of projects across WBS.

    About You  

    • You will have technical expertise and creative flair, excelling in filming, audio recording, and editing. Your responsibilities will include producing high-quality, impactful content that meets branding and accessibility standards.
    • Strong communication skills are essential for working with diverse stakeholders. You will deliver projects on time and budget, oversee video technologies and implement innovative techniques.

    Job purpose (a brief summary of the role) 

    • Working within the WBS Teaching and Learning Enhancement team, this role will principally 
    • carry out filming and audio recording and editing, ensuring products are of a high standard and 
    • impact and meet branding and accessibility requirements. Working under the main direction of a Teaching and Learning Consultant, independently and as part of a team, this role will be 
    • responsible for delivering video and audio projects, on time, on budget and for overseeing the department's utilisation and adaptation of classroom technologies. 

    Duties and responsibilities 

    Video Production: 

    • Working with a range of stakeholders including academics, members of the Exec team, 
    • students and external colleagues. 
    • Responsible for interpreting scripts, creating the overall visual style, and directing the actors' performances. 
    • Excellent communication skills to ensure the working brief meets the set requirements before production begins.  
    • Strategically oversee the use, development, and improvement of WBS’ video technologies, including green screen rooms and writing glass, with a focus on enhancing their functionality, efficiency, and user experience.  
    • In collaboration with Teaching and Learning Consultants, contribute to the evolution and execution of a video content strategy that reinforces WBS’ brand identity. 
    • Collaborate with various WBS colleagues to produce high-quality video content that effectively communicates WBS’ teaching and learning practice and enhances the student experience.   
    • Implement innovative video production techniques and technologies to continuously improve the quality, creativity, and impact of WBS videos, staying current with industry trends and best practices.  
    • Expand WBS’ video library by creating a wide range of educational content, utilising numerous resources for a diverse student community.  
    • Lead or participate in multimedia training sessions and workshops for WBS staff and 
    • students to empower them with basic video production skills and promote a culture of visual storytelling and digital media literacy across campus.  
    • Implement VR and immersive media to enhance student engagement, producing content and providing technical guidance on the adoption of emerging pedagogical tools. 

    Video Production Strategy: 

    • Monitor and analyse key performance metrics, such as video views, engagement rates, and audience demographics, to evaluate the effectiveness of video content and inform future production decisions, ensuring continuous improvement and ROI.  
    • Contribute to the overall advancement of WBS’ strategic objectives and institutional priorities in the area of teaching and learning through the strategic use of video as a powerful medium for communication, education, and engagement.  
    • Working closely under the guidance of and in collaboration with the Teaching and Learning Consultants and other team members, strategise and develop relevant audio and video content. This entails continual and effective consultation to ensure the produced content aligns with the defined objectives.  

    Classroom Technology:  

    • Working with Teaching and Learning Consultants to identify, evaluate, procure, implement and support a range of classroom technologies. This will include providing updates and training both within the Teaching and Learning Enhancement team and across WBS as well as trouble shooting as necessary.  
    • Overseeing the department's utilisation and adaptation of lecture capture technology. 
    • Proactively research, pilot and evaluate emerging AI-driven tools and Generative AI applications to enhance pedagogical practices. 
    • Some smaller projects will be delivered semi-autonomously in that the brief will be interpreted and final Quality Assurance sign-off will be delivered by the project lead (typically Teaching and Learning Consultant), but all other elements of the job will be delivered by the role. Effective time and project management skills must be demonstrated on all projects to ensure deadlines are met. Use effective processes to keep colleagues informed of project progression.  
    • Other duties as allocated by line management within the scope of the role.
