    Finance Manager - Internal Controls

    Position Summary

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Internal Controls Manager to join the Group Internal Controls team, with a specific focus on financial reporting risk and controls. 

    The role requires a seasoned and experienced Internal Control subject matter expert, with excellent technical knowledge of US SOX or equivalent and strong experience of financial processes and controls implementation in a Global environment.

    The role reports to the Group Head of Internal Controls but is required to work closely with the Group Internal Controls Assurance team (Delhi) and key stakeholders in Group Treasury, Group Tax, Group Financial Control and with our external auditors (PwC).

    What you will be doing:

    • Using your specialist knowledge, and previous experience, to provide the business and internal control colleagues with technical support on internal controls best practice. 
    • Offering specialist insight, expertise, and advice to the business to lead the development of improved internal controls that operate in the most efficient and effective way.
    • Constructively challenging current internal controls and working with the business to remediate testing actions to improve the internal control environment.
    • Working with customers (internal and external) to resolve control problems, answer questions, review processes and provide control improvement suggestions to support improvement initiatives.
    • Influencing and working with employees at all levels, and particularly senior management to clearly explain the importance of good internal controls and opportunities for improvements.
    • Partnering with Group functions to assess the impact of change initiatives (including simplification, automation, etc) on risk and controls.
    • Proactively highlighting the key control themes, systemic issues and reporting findings to management, Risk and Audit Committees and the CFO Leadership Team.

    Position Qualifications:

    • A professional accountancy and / or audit qualification
    • Experience of developing an effective internal control system within an organisation

    Preferred Requirements:

    • Knowledge implementing SOX controls, and a SOX compliance programme or equivalent is highly desirable
    • Good knowledge of internal control frameworks (such as COSO)
    • Strong commercial acumen, verbal, and numerical analytical ability
    • Resilient, self-motivated, and accomplished at forming relationships and influencing people at all levels in the company
    • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to question, interpret and explain control concepts in a simple and concise manner

    Production Engineer

    What you will be doing:

    • Perform maintenance and repair tasks on series 1600 and 4000 applications in accordance with the working manual, with opportunities to support other business units in the field as required.
    • Assist in the assembly and preparation of 199 and 2000 applications, as required.
    • Demonstrate relevant technical knowledge to support troubleshooting and diagnostics of different applications.
    • Conduct engine and component inspections and cleaning as required.
    • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements in operations.
    • Collaborate with the lean team to identify and implement process improvements.
    • Utilize special tools and measuring equipment as necessary.
    • Complete relevant process documentation as required.
    • Comply with all health and safety regulations.
    • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and collaboration.
    • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping in all production and shopfloor areas and facilities.
    • Manoeuvre products and materials using plant machinery in accordance with assigned competencies.
    • Attend training courses as required to enhance job performance.
    • Maintain a monthly utilization rate of 85% or higher.
    • Be responsible for ticket management, ensuring the accurate recording of material and labour hours for job-related tickets assigned to you. Prioritize the completion of these tickets, including C4S tickets, before engine and powerpack applications depart. Ensure all tasks are promptly completed and submitted, adhering to established standards while remaining compliant.
    • Undertake any other production or facilities-related activities as reasonably required by the Operations Manager, Supervisor, or Team Leader.

    Position Qualifications

    • NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance / Engineering
    • Skilled in maintenance and repairs with a strong technical background.
    • Proficient in basic troubleshooting and diagnostic methods.
    • Ability to identify ways to save money and improve efficiency.
    • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to foster a positive work environment.
    • Organized, with a keen attention to cleanliness on the shopfloor and the wider facility.
    • Takes ownership and demonstrates accountability for task completion.
    • Capable of safely operating machinery.
    • Responsible, reliable, and dependable in completing tasks on time.
    • Computer literate with proficient keyboard skills and knowledge of both Windows and IOS based systems.

    Preferred requirements:

    • Language: Must be fluent in both written and spoken English.
    • Literacy and Numeracy: Must be competent in both.
    • Must possess a full, clean driving license and be a UK passport holder.
    • Experience driving forklift/tow truck and crane operation is preferable, although training will be provided.
    • On-the-job training will be provided for SAP C4S, 3C’s, MTU Go!Care and MTU Business Portal.

    CNC Machinist - 5 Axis Operator

    What you will be doing:

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions and troubleshooting malfunctions
    • Mount working devices, parts, machine components and cutting tools correctly, according to instructions, specifications and quality standards
    • Check whether finished components meet quality standards
    • Ensure all tools are maintained and are in calibration and find out why machines are not at peak performance, fixing errors and contributing to continuous improvement
    • Complete relevant documentation (quality, operation data sheets, maintenance, reports, etc.)

    Fluid System Design Engineer (Section Lead) - Submarines

    What you will be doing:  

    • Section Leader of the Operations Section within the Dreadnought Fluid Systems team – managing the teams’ tasks, deadlines and delivery with the team of ~3 engineers, reporting into the Group leader, acting alongside the GL during people managing and individuals development.
    • Be responsible for developing the design phases of the Primary Systems Operational functions, defining the Operating Philosophy for the Dreadnought platforms and taking on Technical Ownership of Protective Safety measure.
    • Updating and improving our nuclear safety case documentation, providing the verification and validation of the Operating Principles.
    • Define PWR3 operating principles and support the development of Operational Procedures, this will involve collaborations with the Ministry of Defence, third party partners, The Royal Navy, Current Class experienced engineers and future platforms FSE’s too. Supporting the Opdoc Cell in reviewing and structuring operating procedures, working with the Barrow Site office to produce Test Procedures and Temporary Operating Procedures.
    • There will be opportunity across the teams to support the Commissioning of the Nuclear Steam Raising Plant’s Primary Systems, this can vary in medium, either remotely via processes such as RRADARs, Technical Queries etc or in person at Barrow Site.

    Position Qualifications:  

    • Understand nuclear safety case methods, principles, structures and management processes.
    • Understand Fluid Dynamics and Thermodynamics to aid in basic analytical problem solving.
    • Have had previous experience with requirements capture and basic task planning.
    • Confidently and pro-actively engage within internal and externals stakeholders.
    • Be qualified to at least degree level in a relevant (engineering) discipline.

    Project Manager

    What you will be doing:

    As a Project Manager, you will be accountable for the creation and agreement of the delivery plan for Enterprise projects in addition to:

    • The quality assurance and sign off of any and all 3rd party Statements of Work
    • The establishment of the delivery framework for delivery; scheme, Purchase Orders, PPMO Gate review etc.

    Logistics Technician - Submarines

    What you will be doing:

    • To ensure that all materials are physically receipted, put-away, picked, processed and despatched in accordance with defined procedures and the materials plan. Act with integrity and trust to ensure all physical aspects of logistics management are performed safely and in accordance with quality standards.     Key Accountabilities:

    • Ensure that all materials are receipted, put-away, picked, processed and despatched in accordance with all local & governing procedures, ensuring goods receipt physical inspections are completed and processed using appropriate inspection methods in line with company procedure.
    • Ensure full compliance to all appropriate HSE, Quality standards & Inspection procedures.
    • Comply with the company health, safety and environmental policy and help to embed a culture of open and honest reporting.
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Physical Logistics processes to reduce costs and increase service levels.
    • To maintain raw material provisions to ensure production demands are met.
    • To ensure material is suitable packaged in line with quality and regulatory requirements; to load and unload delivery vehicles, and where required, direct to the appropriate loading bay.
    • Ensuring paperwork (for example but not limited to, GF/GR/PoD) is retained and handed over to the relevant Logistics Operative for retention.
    • Responsible for booking transport requests and liaising with security / police as required.
    • Perform physical counts to support the Physical perpetual inventory (PPI) process
    • Operate physical elements of the logistics processes including, but not exclusively, lifting, MHE etc.
    • To operate to the relevant policies and procedures as defined and comply with RRMS.
