    Broker Relationship Manager

    Make your mark in Client & Broker Engagement

    Our Client and Broker Engagement (CBE) team manages AIG’s major client relationships across all product lines, as well as driving new business activity. The team serves major clients and broker partners through an elevated, personalized experience – our client-centric framework drives a consistent experience and best practice, while allowing flexibility to meet the client’s needs.

    How you will create an impact

    As a Broker Relationship Manager, you will be accountable for developing and driving increased retention, a healthy pipeline of new business and an enhanced share of wallet - in line with the agreed parameters of the service agreements with each broker partner. This role helps AIG grow profitably across the UK and product lines in line with a strongly governed framework.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Accountable for developing and maintaining strategic relationships for the UK with one of the Global Brokers
    • Responsible for designing, developing and maintaining strategic relationships and create an ease of doing business with AIG. 
    • Conduct Quarterly Business Review (QBR) with the Broker as appropriate to provide governance of the deliverables under the agreements and drive performance.
    • Lead the development and execution of best practice with Product Lines and other stakeholders

    Best Practice:

    • Production Meetings/Salesforce: Lead the overall value of Distribution for the designated broker to via various means including Production Meetings to drive retention and new business utilising Salesforce;
    • Appetite & Value Proposition: Lead the articulation of our underwriting appetite and differentiating value proposition (including Multinational & Claims First) to the brokers;
    • Engagement: Help connect AIG leadership with key leaders at the Broking Houses;
    • Broker Experience: Review broker surveys and agree actions to improve broker experience;
    • Data/Analytics: Utilise internal data (Salesforce, KPI 2.0 and iDive) and broker data to drive retention, new business opportunities and performance;
    • Pipeline & Growth: ensure leadership and input in the value chain between broker and product (and vice versa) to deliver growth.  High visibility in the broking houses to ensure conversion of NB that product would not be able to deliver on their own
    • In conjunction with Client & Broker Leadership, Profit Centres and ELT (where appropriate), develop and implement strategic and operational business plans for designated broker.
    • Work with AIG’ Product Leaders to create co-owned strategic initiatives / projects to deliver increased sales opportunities and support in creation and implementation of new product launches, portfolio and strategic projects.
    • Lead identification and design of new opportunities for profitable growth, schemes, facilities, joint broker and client propositions and new product ideas, using internal data systems & maximising use of the broker systems.
    • Monitor broker performance and delivery against sales, service plans and specific initiatives.  Accelerate progress where opportune and undertake corrective action where required.
    • Ensure all deals and agreements conform to required regulations.  Ensure internal and external governance structures in place to identify and escalate key issues.

    What you’ll need to succeed

    • Broad insurance knowledge across P&C and Specialty
    • Solid profile and reputation in the UK commercial insurance market
    • Strong commercial background
    • Experience of working with Senior Underwriter, Product heads and other senior stakeholders
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and proven interpersonal skills
    • Sales and business development experience
    • CII preferable

    Senior Marine Underwriter (UK Marine Retail Lead)

    How you will create an impact

    Reporting to the Head of Multinational & Retail Cargo you will contribute to the growth of the regional marine business by:  the underwriting of new and renewal business; developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing brokers; building client relationships; develop and carry out agreed strategies; deliver technical support and programme administration on an assigned portfolio of Cargo Multinational & Regional Accounts.

    Accountabilities for the role:

    • Contribute to the growth of the business by assisting in the underwriting of new and renewal business and delivering technical support and programme administration on an assigned portfolio of accounts.
    • Driving growth through multiple distribution platforms including E-trade, open market underwriting and facility participation.
    • Developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing brokers and clients.
    • Obtaining all necessary technical underwriting information through liaison with the broker and or client
    • Liaising on technical service issues with appropriate departments to expedite resolution.
    • Liaising with brokers, internal and external clients across UK to ensure quality and consistency of underwriting and service delivery.
    • Liaising with UK Distribution/Broker Relationship Teams to manage pipeline of account activity on a monthly basis.

    What you’ll need to succeed:

    • Advanced working knowledge of UK cargo business including product features, forms, regulatory environments and risks, etc.
    • Insight: Detail-oriented, critical thinking skills, decision making based on level of authority, problem solving, competent using analytical tools and technology
    • Agility: Effective in dynamic environment, adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, working at pace and prioritizing multiple tasks
    • Relationships: Communication skills (written and verbal), collaboration, building trust with wide range of colleagues and clients
    • Commercial edge: Financial understanding, appetite for learning about the industry, negotiating and focused on profitable business
    • Extensive experience in a Commercial insurance environment / London Market
    • CII Qualification desirable or progression towards ACI
