    Private Banker - African Market

    Job Overview

    The Private Banker's role is to develop and deliver private and investment banking services to Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients within the African market. UHNW is defined as clients with USD 25+ million Net Worth or USD 10+ million AUM or USD 100,000+ Client Net Revenue.

    Responsibilities:

    • Build Client Relationships - Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of clients' businesses and sources of wealth generation as well as serve as a trusted advisor to the Private Banks clients.
    • Develop Client Solutions - Develop tailored solutions that address clients' unique investment, risk management, and financing/liquidity needs.
    • Execute and Drive Results - Set challenging goals, regularly monitoring progress and making adjustments to achieve objectives.
    • Teamwork - Help team members to acquire the experience necessary to establish credibility with clients and intermediaries.
    • Build & Maintain Relationships with Business Partners, Colleagues and Staff - Develop strong relationships and partners with support functions across the Private Bank to maintain control, find solutions and resolve issues.
    • Promote Integrity and Trust - Understand and communicate the risk involved with various investment strategies.

    Knowledge/Experience:

    • Proven experience in UHNW Private Banking or the institutional/corporate banking market, specifically covering the African market
    • Demonstrated track record in relationship acquisition.
    • Proven success in building a new business, prospecting for new clients and business, identifying new business opportunities and closing transactions.
    • Extensive experience in selling new products, based on client needs.
    • Experience in working on teams and influencing diverse resources and stakeholders.

    Role Overview:

    The team is currently recruiting for a project analyst to execute on global initiatives across Middle Office and Securities Settlements, spanning both Cash Equities and Fixed Income Business Lines.  Initiatives will cover but not limited to regulatory, strategic re-architecture and process improvement.

    What you'll do:

    • Execute established project management disciplines including the development of program governance and effective stakeholder management to drive planning and execution
    • Identify, prioritise and proactively manage dependencies, risks, exceptions and issues
    • Evaluate front to back control processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement with SME’s
    • Communicate with all stakeholders to elicit, analyze and validate the requirements for changes to control processes, within workshops, working groups and other forums.
    • Analyze the information collected in a detailed manner whilst working independently and as part of the overall team.
    • Work with sponsors to ensure that there are trackable, tangible benefits and associated KPIs.
    • Work collaboratively with technology, ensuring there are clear delivery plans aligned to Operations strategic requirements and hold delivery plan owners to account
    • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing collaborating with internal and external teams where required
    • Develop presentations to Markets Operations and business management covering project / program status and plans
    • Contribute to the design and delivery of Operations training plans and materials, present training to small and large groups as required

    What we'll need from you:

    • Knowledge of a process in any of the Securities products (Equities, Fixed Income, SBL or Prime)
    • Ability to work independently, multi-task, well organized and have great attention to detail and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative.
    • Able to lead conference calls and produce meeting agendas, materials, and minutes.
    • Excellent Excel, Powerpoint and process mapping skillsets
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate to a range of audiences and facilitate discussions.
    • Willingness to ask questions, challenge the process and seek out answers

    What we'll need from you:

    • Previous relevant experience in transformation roles
    • Understanding of and passion for change management and process improvement programs using data to drive change
    • Technical understanding of core processes and business lines within Banking/Markets Operations e.g. allocations, reconciliations, confirmations payment processing etc.
    • Experience working in an Operations line role is beneficial
    • High degree of organization and personal discipline
    • Collaborative mindset with an aptitude for developing effective working relationships
    • Strong problem solving abilities
    • Ability to communicate complex subject matter conceptually and succinctly.
