    Assistant Professor in Psychology

    About the Role

The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) is entering an exciting phase of introducing Psychology, with the launch of MSc Psychology (Applied) programme in September 2026 as the first dedicated Psychology offering. As part of this strategic initiative, we seek a talented scholar and teacher to join our team, hosted in the School of Education and English, as an Assistant Professor in Psychology.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Psychology or a closely related field and demonstrate commitment to both research and teaching excellence. We are particularly interested in candidates with research expertise in cognitive psychology, human–technology interaction, or health, clinical, and counselling psychology. Experience utilising modern neuroscience methods such as EEG, fMRI, and psychophysiology would be highly desirable, as would the ability to design and evaluate digital health assessments and interventions in applied settings. The successful candidate will develop and deliver teaching modules across the Psychology curriculum, supervise Masters and PhD students, and contribute to curriculum development as the programme expands. Candidates should have at least two years of teaching and research experience in higher education, along with evidence of a developing publication record.

We seek a collaborative team player who values collegiality and thrives in a multidisciplinary environment across the Faculty and University. Especially attractive will be candidates passionate about applied research conducted in partnership with external organisations, alongside demonstrated experience in science communication or public engagement that enhances the social impact of psychological research. The successful candidate will also contribute to administrative duties, student recruitment, and representation of the School within and outside the University.
