    Professor in Economics

    University of Nottingham Ningbo China is seeking to recruit a Professor in Economics in School of Economics

    The School of Economics seeks a distinguished scholar for a faculty position at the Full Professor level. The ideal candidate will be at the forefront of research that integrates modern machine learning methods with economic theory and econometric analysis. We are particularly interested in individuals whose work addresses substantive economic questions—such as causal inference in high-dimensional settings, algorithmic behavioral economics, forecasting economic indicators, or modeling complex market equilibria—using tools from machine learning. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a vibrant, externally funded research program, teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to the intellectual leadership of the department and the university's broader data science initiatives.

    The successful candidate will be initially offered a five-year contract. The remuneration package for the successful candidate will include a competitive salary package, as well as accommodation allowance, health insurance, schooling support, home flight, relocation & repatriation support, and paid annual leave.

    Associate Professor in Business Analytics

    Your key responsibilities include:

    • To take the lead on, plan, develop and conduct individual and/or collaborative research objectives, projects and proposals either as an individual or as part of a broader programme.
    • To act as the principal investigator on major research projects within the relevant field; investigate and devise new research methods, generate new research approaches and contribute generally to the development of thought and practice in relevant field.
    • To establish a national reputation and regularly disseminate and explain research findings through leading peer-reviewed national publications (on a sustained basis), conferences and other appropriate media.
    • Actively pursue recognition through appropriate talent schemes and programs, both nationally and internationally, to elevate personal and institutional academic standing. To deliver teaching across a range of modules or within a subject area, providing curriculum leadership within own area of expertise.
    • Contribute to the design of course modules and/or programmes of study in specialist areas and support their quality. Where appropriate, contribute to identifying the need for developing the content or structure of existing modules and make proposals on how this should be achieved.
    • To deliver teaching and contribute to curriculum development for DBA programme.
    • To supervise and examine Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD students (including DBA students).

    NUBS China seeks to appoint proactive, mature academics who are self-driven and results-oriented, resilient and creative, with internationally recognised intellectual contributions in the relevant subject area.

    Candidates should have:

    • A PhD degree in following areas
      • Business Analytics
      • Artificial Intelligence
      • Information Systems
      • Marketing
    • Other emerging or interdisciplinary fields relevant to Business Analytics;
    • Proven ability to plan and lead the delivery of research and teaching programmes, including but not limited to DBA programmes;
    • A track record of publishing in top-tier international journals appropriate to the level of the appointment;
    • Ability and passion to work in the multicultural environment of UNNC and to explore research opportunities in China.

    We also look for academic leaders who have strong evidence of attracting research funding and/or leading research projects; proven ability to mentor junior researchers, strong research networking to attract people and research funding. Editorial experience at leading international journals is advantageous.

    Assistant Professor in Psychology

    About the Role

    The University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) is entering an exciting phase of introducing Psychology, with the launch of MSc Psychology (Applied) programme in September 2026 as the first dedicated Psychology offering. As part of this strategic initiative, we seek a talented scholar and teacher to join our team, hosted in the School of Education and English, as an Assistant Professor in Psychology.

    The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Psychology or a closely related field and demonstrate commitment to both research and teaching excellence. We are particularly interested in candidates with research expertise in cognitive psychology, human–technology interaction, or health, clinical, and counselling psychology. Experience utilising modern neuroscience methods such as EEG, fMRI, and psychophysiology would be highly desirable, as would the ability to design and evaluate digital health assessments and interventions in applied settings. The successful candidate will develop and deliver teaching modules across the Psychology curriculum, supervise Masters and PhD students, and contribute to curriculum development as the programme expands. Candidates should have at least two years of teaching and research experience in higher education, along with evidence of a developing publication record.

    We seek a collaborative team player who values collegiality and thrives in a multidisciplinary environment across the Faculty and University. Especially attractive will be candidates passionate about applied research conducted in partnership with external organisations, alongside demonstrated experience in science communication or public engagement that enhances the social impact of psychological research.     Administrator (Fixed-Term)

You will be a motivated team player and will join our proactive and supportive team who are committed to the smooth and efficient running of the School.

    Due to the nature of the role, the role holder will spend part of their time on Campus, blending this with some remote working.
