    Commercial Communications Business Partner

    Role Description

    This role will be supporting AZ Commercial. The Communications Business Partner is responsible for planning and delivering high quality, creative communication initiatives for Allianz UK, working to deliver multi-channel content for both internal and external audiences. The Communications Business Partner provides strategic communications counsel to Allianz UK senior leaders and develops a programme of communication activities and messaging which earns, builds, and safeguards trust held by audiences. 

    This pivotal role works with the employee communications team, the external communications team, Group communications, and the corporate events team, to transform key messages into compelling content. It builds and maintains a comprehensive communications content calendar for business function/s, communicating business and function strategies aligned to Allianz UK plans, bringing to life our strategy, performance, culture, brand, transformation, and people - using performance and measurement frameworks to monitor impact and inform continuous improvements of communication initiatives.

    Salary Information

    Circa £65k Per Annum

    Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

    Location: The position can be based in either of our London, Guildford, Bristol or Bournemouth offices and follows a hybrid working arrangement, requiring between 2 and 16 days of office attendance per month

    About You

    • Acts as the strategic communications advisor to an ExCo member and their LT - shaping narrative, messaging and communication priorities, not producing content.
    • Leads planning and orchestration of integrated communication and events strategies, ensuring alignment across internal, external and leadership channels.
    • Translates business strategy, risk and transformation activity into clear briefs and structured communication plans for the comms teams to execute.
    • Partners with channel and content specialists to ensure work is delivered to a high editorial standard, without directly creating the content.
    • Anticipates and manages communications in fast paced, regulated environments, providing calm judgement and expert counsel in high stakes situations.
    • Influences and aligns senior stakeholders, protecting priorities, sequencing activity and ensuring coherent messaging across teams.
    • Uses insight, measurement and digital channel expertise to guide decision making and prioritisation, ensuring communications land effectively.
    • Champions innovation - particularly how AI and technology can enhance communication, streamline processes and strengthen impact.

    Essential Skills

    • Demonstrable experience as a senior communications advisor with relevant financial services and/or insurance experience.
    • Experience of leading small groups of teams responsible for developing and implementing communications strategy.
    • Experience in a large multinational organization, particularly within financial services or insurance.
    • Experience of managing complex communications within fast-paced regulatory environments.
    • Proven track record of influencing key stakeholders, presenting complex subject matter in simple, engaging ways to multiple levels with varied knowledge bases.
    • Strong written and verbal communication and data presentation skills.
    • Understanding/appreciation for the role AI and technology can bring to communications.
    • Insight and audience-led planning experience, particularly around connecting internal/external communications through digital channels.
    • Able to challenge and influence multiple senior stakeholders.
    • Deep technical knowledge of digital communication channels and platforms e.g., SharePoint, Viva Engage.
    • Experience of linking commercial and business priorities to employee communications strategies, able to influence internal stakeholder decision-making and align communications activities to one integrated plan.
    • Qualifications Degree level or equivalent – minimum 2:2 or equivalent (CIPR Diploma) in marketing, PR, Business or associated discipline. Professional qualifications at certificate level.
