    Director of Marketing, UK

    How you will create an impact

    As part of Marketing & Communications (M&C) team, the Director of Marketing will manage a team of marketing professionals and third-party marketing suppliers, oversee the UK marketing budget, and lead the governance of financial promotions. Strong writing skills, creative judgement, sector-specific insight and proven leadership are critical to success.

    Some of the key responsibilities include:

    • Support business goals by developing a comprehensive marketing strategy and oversee the creation and delivery of impactful and differentiated marketing proposition for our commercial and personal insurance product lines.
    • Set creative direction for marketing activity and drive innovation while ensuring brand consistency and clarity of message and high standards of quality across all content
    • Lead a multiskilled marketing team based in the UK. Set annual goals for the team, provide coaching and development to ensure collective alignment with business priorities and individual career development.
    • Partner with other team members to create and implement of data-driven multi-channel marketing campaigns for selected products aligned with AIG UK objectives to promote cross-sell/up-sell of products and services.
    • Work closely with Underwriting teams, Broker Engagement teams and other M&C colleagues to align marketing efforts with business goals and stakeholder expectations.
    • Manage a panel of external creative graphic design, production and marketing services agencies to provide optimum support to the AIG UK business.
    • Ensure high-quality, timely, cost-effective performance of all creative agencies and oversee performance reviews.
    • Lead the development and oversight of the UK financial promotions management process ensuring all materials meet FCA and internal governance requirements.
    • Liaise with compliance and legal stakeholders to maintain a robust approval process and audit trail.

    ​​​​​​​What you’ll need to succeed

    • Extensive senior-level marketing experience in the insurance industry and a successful track record of team leadership.
    • Demonstrable success delivering powerful and differentiated value propositions across multiple insurance products and formats   
    • Deep understanding of UK commercial insurance products, distribution channels and the competitive insurance landscape.
    • Strong creative judgment and experience of achieving consistent and optimal cost performance from creative agencies 
    • Strong written and verbal communications, skilled at active listening, facilitating discussion and engagement with stakeholders at all levels throughout the business  
    • Deep understanding of insurance intermediary customer needs and regulatory framework.
    • Cross border collaboration with international/global marketing teams is desirable.
