    Manager Europe B2B Partnerships

    Role Overview – Manager, B2B Partnerships

    • Operating worldwide, the MasterCard Verticals team leverages MasterCard’s assets to open up new business in non-traditional sectors.
    • The team partners with industry leading organizations to orchestrate new value, drive new solutions, or effect new partnerships to better serve end-customers, markets and ecosystems.
    • The card and non-card, business-to-business (‘B2B’) payments space represents a significant new opportunity for Mastercard. If MasterCard is to deliver new value in this space, it needs to think big, be engaged and diligent to win the trust of end customers to help them support their corporate clients.
    • The Verticals team has been developing partnerships, a platform vision and an approach to address historic pain points around B2B Payments. We are also leading the way to transform B2B payments by embedding payments into the business process and create new value at multiple levels.
    • The Verticals team requires a Manager to drive measurable customer success by working with solution integrators, consulting organizations, internal Mastercard teams and ecosystem stakeholders to support B2B partnerships and their sales campaigns and enablement programs for suppliers on digitized payments (card and non-card). The Manager will provide leadership and coordination across multiple teams and stakeholders such as regional Sales, Product, Issuer, Acceptance, Services and PMO.

    Role

    • Responsible for supporting B2B partnerships with selling commercial payment solutions such as virtual cards. In the future there is an opportunity to expand to other payments like digital currencies and non-card payment modalities.
    • Identify and maintain ongoing communications with internal and external stakeholders, business customers and their suppliers, related partners and third parties as needed.
    • Collaborate with our PMO to prepare and distribute program and executive leadership updates as needed, including measurements against GDV targets
    • Establish partner governance and conduct structured update meetings with key contributors
    • Build and maintain senior management relationships within the key partner and customer relationships.
    • Develop deep understanding and insights into the respective B2B platforms, their capabilities, and strengths, and identify opportunities for Mastercard to provide solutions to expand payment features for their customers.

    Essential knowledge, skills and experience:

    • You have an understanding of how businesses large and small make payments and receive payments.
    • You have Business to business (B2B) network, procure-to-pay and ERP awareness
    • You have an understanding of the payment ecosystem and associated best practices, including acquiring banks, payment facilitators and issuers
    • You have sales and partnership experience, including running sales cycles, deal strategy and establishing distribution channels through partnerships.
    • You are strategic in approach, solution oriented and understand and address inter-dependencies and real issues to manage partner and customer sales situations.
    • You are detail-oriented and have a clear definition of requirements and timelines.
    • You have experience managing to customer expectations on deliverables and milestones
    • You are experienced with managing matrixed organizations and leading them to success

    Desirable or additional capabilities:

    • The Advisors Client Services group has five specializations: Strategy & Transformation, Performance Analytics, Business Experimentation, Marketing, and Program Management. Our Strategy & Transformation consultants lead clients through impactful decision-making as they tackle strategic, tactical, operational, and transformational business challenges. They apply a broad set of problem-solving techniques to improve the client’s overall strategy, performance, and operations.
    • This role will focus on building and growing the Retail & Commerce (R&C) practice at Mastercard, within the Strategy & Transformation specialisation. The R&C Managing Consultant will engage with Mastercard insights and diverse range of technology platforms, strategic consulting offerings, and marketing activation services. The R&C Managing Consultant will serve regional and global clients across financial institutions, digital & fintech players, and retail & commerce verticals and help clients develop and implement strategies to acquire new consumers, increase activation, deepen engagement, and build loyalty. 
    • You are a great fit if you have experience in strategy, transformation, and analytics at a retailer, including e-commerce platforms, and/or a strategy consulting background with projects in retail strategy and insights (if so, please feel free to list the types of retail clients). But even more importantly, you are highly customer centric, like working with teams to solve complex and ambiguous problems, and can build trust-based relationships with clients while helping them challenge the status quo.

    Client Impact

    • Lead client engagements across Retail and Commerce and Digital Partners
    • Build retail and commerce practice by developing a robust understanding of Mastercard products and data analytics
    • Develop strong value-driven narratives and customised presentations to support new business pitches
    • Work closely with business development teams for an effective joint go to market and ensure best in class value delivery
    • Own key relationships with mid-level to senior client stakeholders and independently assess client agenda, internal culture, and change readiness
    • Develop strategies and programs for large, regional, and global clients by leveraging data and technology solutions to unlock client value

    Team Collaboration & Culture

    • Lead team to creative insights and sound business recommendations, and deliver impactful client presentations while growing team members’ roles and skills

    Qualifications

    • 6-8 years work experience in consulting, corporate strategy, business intelligence, business line management, or product management as well as undergraduate degree
    • Understanding of UK digital partners and merchants, experience at retail -focused consultancy or e-commerce platform strongly preferred
    • Experience working on consumer engagement and acquisition projects or initiatives (lifecycle marketing, CRM, loyalty programs, customer journeys, channel strategy, segmentation, etc.)
    • Experience coaching and managing teams across multiple consulting engagements that involve structured problem solving and stakeholder management
    • Experience managing key client relationships and leading conversations with senior internal and external stakeholders
    • Knowledge of business KPIs, financials, and organizational leadership
    • Ability to identify new business development opportunities, and experience drafting proposals and scoping new opportunities
    • Logical, structured thinking, and affinity for detail while retaining a big picture view

    Senior Counsel, Regulatory

    Role

    • Provides advice and guidance on the SIPS Regulation, the PISA oversight framework and various Bank of England Codes and supervisory statements to Regulatory colleagues and internal business teams most impacted by oversight, building close trusted relationships and establishing a reputation as the subject matter expert
    • Providing legal/regulatory advice to business stakeholders on the impact of oversight requirements on product development and technology and contributing subject matter expertise with respect to operational requirements, policies and procedures

    Head of Sales, Dynamic Yield Europe (Vice President)

    Senior Counsel

    The Role

    • Structure, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts ranging from simple, high-volume statements of work to complex partnership and novel/strategic deals through transactional agreements, consulting agreements, technology agreements, marketing and promotional campaign agreements
    • Liaison in aligning and collaborating across various business and legal teams, including with regional counsels
    • Advise and support on product development and go-to-market implementation
    • Strategic partner and trusted advisor to a demanding, fast-paced business unit, counseling the business on deal-specific as well as general business matters
