Manufacturing Test Technician
Location: Stafford HVDC valves manufacturing
Reports To: Manufacturing Leader
This is a role where safety is critical in a fast-paced environment and sound decision making within the SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) framework will be required. The Technician will ensure all health and safety requirements are upheld, company policies, procedures and legal regulations are strictly followed.
They are responsible for conducting tests on products, systems, or components to ensure they meet specified performance criteria and quality standards. The Technician will operate the automated test equipment and achieve production targets through test.
This role involves setting up and operating test equipment, documenting findings, reporting defects, and working closely with production teams to address quality issues.
Though previous experience in a test environment is desirable training will be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
- Test Setup and Execution:
- Follow mandatory electrical safety procedures when conducting tests in line with GE Vernova policies and procedures
- Prepare and calibrate test equipment and instrumentation in readiness for testing
- Use automated test equipment
- Support customer witnessed testing
- Fault analysis:
- Interpret electrical drawings/schematics and failure modes to fault find
- Work with engineering and production teams to resolve problems
- Documentation:
- Maintain records of test procedures, results, and equipment calibration as per company policy
- Test equipment maintenance
- Support all test equipment within manufacturing during operation and maintenance
- Carry out daily maintenance on the test equipment including the cooling plant
- Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to the development and improvement of testing methodologies
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance technical skills
Qualifications/Experience:
- NVQ level 2 or equivalent in electrical safety/ electrical installation or demonstratable years of experience
- Desirable: 3 + years’ experience working with electrical systems/products
- Desirable: Experience in a production test environment but training will be provided
- Desirable: Experience with automated testing systems

Working Conditions:
- The work is shift based with rotation and 5 days onsite
- Overtime/weekend working may be necessary to support production
- This position will require standing for extended periods on the production floor.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn and will be provided depending on the work setting.
- Will require lifting, carrying, and moving of materials and equipment.
- Occasional travel might be necessary to support at project sites.
