Change Management is a critical success factor in growth at McDonald's and we support change at McDonald's through our Change & Organization Activation Center of Excellence (COE).
The Change COE partners with leaders to enable the human side of transformation, ensuring people adopt the changes needed to promote the long-term success of our business. As a member of the Change COE, you will be a part of a team-building change capability across the Enterprise. You'll succeed by being an innovator, a self-starter, and a collaborative strategic partner to our customers.
We are seeking a Manager of Change Management to drive the development and deployment of change interventions using our framework and methodology. The immediate need is support for COE Operations and Communities of Practice (COP). This role will report to the Senior Manager, Change Management Operations and Alignment.
What will you do in this role?
- Manage various enterprise-level communities of practice, ensuring active engagement and participation to sustain a knowledgeable and skilled pool of talent.
- Help drive standards, efficiencies, and consistency in how Change is executed across the Enterprise.
- Provide operational support for the COE
Responsibilities include:
Manage ongoing Change Communities of Practice and Feedback Processes
- Sustain communities of practice and manage ongoing execution and adoption
- Gather and report on feedback and evolving needs and insights to inform the CoP into the Playbook and overall COE Strategy.
- Facilitate appropriate connections with stakeholder/COP groups (e.g., market transformation change leads and program change leads), coordinating and sharing information between global and markets
Execute Upskilling and Capability Building Activities
- Promote targeted learning programs to enhance change management skills across stakeholder groups.
- Based on feedback, curate relevant content and develop experiences, ideas, and approaches.
- Identify change learning needs through stakeholder identification and interviews
- Track progress and impact of upskilling initiatives, adjusting strategies to meet evolving business needs.
Mange Tier 2 Level Support
- For programs that qualify for low/medium level support, introduce and facilitate access to the COP and upskilling opportunities
Provide COE operational support
- Manage change plans, content calendars, distribution lists, and materials needed to support the COP and overall COE
- Create and manage COE and COP online forums (MS Teams, Viva Engage, etc.)
Drive Adoption with One McDonald's Way
- Maintain an understanding of Change and broader McDonald's strategy and priorities
- Work closely with program stakeholders and other practitioners to ensure an understanding of the Change Framework
- Advise and coach functional leaders on Change Management
- Support the growth of Change knowledge across the Enterprise
- Gain an understanding of the McDonald’s Change Framework and support training of partners, practitioners, and business leaders
Skills and experience required:
- Intermediate-level change management skills
- Experience with and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
- Proficient with MS PowerPoint, Word, and collaborative technologies
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational/project management skills
- Able to establish and maintain strong relationships and influence others to accept practices and approaches
- Experience designing and executing detailed change plans
- Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
- Experience working with globally distributed teams
- Significant Change Management experience
- Experience leading or supporting change on large, complex digital or regulatory initiatives in a product operating model
- Data-driven mindset and strong process design skills
- Creating deliverables that require cross-functional collaboration and socialization
- Ability to provide strategic guidance to business leaders for low – and medium-complexity change programs
- Experience with creative applications to develop visually compelling stories
Qualifications
- Master's degree in business management, human resources, or related field preferred.

The Opportunity
The Software Management Officer will oversee the entire lifecycle management of software within our corporate and restaurant environments. This includes developing and implementing patching strategies, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the software lifecycle, and maintaining all software by applying necessary patches. The role involves documenting and communicating Franchisee investments related to software each year, well in advance of the following year's investment cycles. Additionally, the officer is responsible for the administration and management of system tools.
What will my accountabilities be?
- Lifecycle Planning and Implementation: Accountable for establishing the strategy, plans, and implementation for lifecycle planning and software asset management across the UK&I restaurant and corporate estate.
- Annual Investment Programme for Franchisees: Provide Franchisees with an annual investment Programme encompassing all software components in restaurants, ensuring clear communication and planning for the following year's investment cycles.
- OS and Firmware Patch Deployment: Develop and maintain an ongoing plan for the deployment of operating system (OS) and firmware patches to ensure optimal performance and security of restaurants within the estate.
- Support Cyber Security Team: Support the Cyber Security team by maintaining and executing plans for the smooth deployment of security patches, contributing to the overall security posture of the organization.
- Configuration of Images for New Hardware: Accountable for the configuration of images for new hardware versions, ensuring seamless integration and functionality within the technology landscape.
- Patch and Upgrade Schedule: Maintain an ongoing schedule for all operating system, applications, security patching, and firmware upgrades across the McDonald’s UK&I estate, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Vendor Management Collaboration: Work collaboratively with senior management and vendor management functions to review technology resources (software), expenses, and software license agreements, ensuring efficient resource utilization.
- Software System Requirements: Establish and maintain procedures for determining software system requirements, contributing to the effective planning and acquisition of software assets.
- Procurement and Legal Support: Assist procurement, financial, and legal departments in analyzing budgets, proposals, and vendor contracts for the acquisition, monitoring, and compliance of software assets.
- Tracking System Maintenance: Oversee the development and maintenance of a tracking system for all software assets, ensuring an accurate inventory and accounting of all assets and their components.
- Linkage with Budgeting and Procurement: Establish a linkage with budgeting and procurement processes to track asset acquisition, utilization, and retirement, providing insights into the financial aspects of software asset management.
- Global Alignment: Work closely with colleagues in GTIO and GTRM to understand and plan for emerging technologies and implement them within the organization to agreed milestones.

Qualifications
What background do I need to have?
An individual who understands the importance of building relationships across the business, with excellent communication, curiosity and influencing skills will do well in this role. An attention to detail, an analytical approach and the ability to quickly identify the root cause of issues will be critical to success in the role.
An individual fulfilling this role will be passionate about and demonstrate success in:
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers, and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of products and services.
- Demonstrated competency of Information Technology contract administration, purchasing, or procurement.
- Expertise with Software Asset Management and licensing models.
- Familiarity with asset management software (CMDB) and/or inventory tracking systems.
- An understanding of software licensing models and frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to present complex or highly technical issues in simple and easy-to-understand formats.
Desirable requirements:
- ServiceNow System Administrator Certified
- Experience/Knowledge of Snow License Manager
- CSAM or other software asset management related certification
- ITIL 3 or 4 Foundation
- Experience in the food and beverage industry or a similar fast-paced environment.
