    Procurement Engineer

    A Snapshot of Your Day

    Join us as a Procurement Engineer, where you will be at the forefront of cost transparency and optimisation for SGT products. Imagine leading diverse projects and cost-out initiatives for small gas turbines, organising cost optimisation workshops with interdisciplinary teams, and harnessing the innovative power of our external suppliers. You will represent Procurement as a project manager during the development phase of new and upgraded products, collaborating closely with R&D project managers to achieve project targets like Target Cost. Your role will be pivotal in the Design to Cost (DTC) process, supporting and monitoring project teams to significantly contribute to our cost reduction goals.

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    • Act as the key local interface for Procurement in development projects.
    • Develop and implement effective cost-out measures in close alignment with internal cross-functions.
    • Represent Procurement as a project manager in selected key R&D development programs.
    • Serve as a technical partner for Procurement to develop and implement effective sourcing strategies.
    • Leverage the know-how and innovation power of our suppliers while conducting technology scouting with Procurement and R&D.
    • Support the market introduction of new products through early involvement of Procurement and strategic partnerships with suppliers.
    • Collaborate with an extended network of experts in other procurement functions, including Cost Engineers, Commodity Managers, and Supplier Quality Managers.
    • Join our global Distributed POE team, collaborating with members in the UK, Sweden, US, and India.

    What You Bring

    • A combined technical/commercial or technical degree (minimum bachelor’s degree preferred).
    • Experience in engineering, R&D, project management, and/or supply chain is required.
    • Excellent project management, interpersonal, and communication skills, especially in interactions with internal customers and senior management.
    • Relevant technical product knowledge in gas turbines or similar technologies.
    • A curious, fast learner who is proactive and driven by results, with a strong sense of prioritisation and focus on what matters most.
    • Willingness to travel occasionally when required.

    Project Manager

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    • You will act as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring their rotating equipment needs are met and driving satisfaction through proactive engagement.
    • You will plan and safely deliver all outages, oversee documentation, and develop strategies to mitigate risks, following Project Excellence@Siemens Energy standards.
    • You will coordinate unscheduled maintenance and breakdowns, ensuring a structured response and effective support for site personnel.
    • You will manage project finances and customer accounts, focusing on profitability, risk management, and identifying upsell opportunities.
    • You will collaborate with Sales to define project scopes, develop strategic relationships with product centers, and contribute to data quality in business systems.

    What You Bring

    • You have proven experience in customer management and a strong track record in project delivery within the energy, renewables, oil and gas, or power generation sectors.
    • You hold a degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business, or Project Management, with industry qualifications such as APM, PRINCE2, or PMI considered a plus.
    • You are skilled in using project management tools like OnePM, Microsoft Project, SAP, or Salesforce.
    • You demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to safety (IOSH desirable).
    • You are willing to travel to customer sites in the UK and occasionally abroad.

    Senior Design Engineer

    As an Senior Design Engineer, your day will be dynamic and collaborative, focused on delivering high-quality primary engineering designs that align with our business strategy. You’ll work closely with the team lead to prepare detailed technical specifications, layouts, civil guide drawings, and loading calculations, while also reviewing equipment suppliers’ offers. Throughout the day, you’ll monitor engineering delivery progress, promptly escalating any issues to the team leader. Your strong collaboration and communication skills will be essential as you contribute positively to the team and drive project success. Join us and be a pivotal part of our engineering journey!

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    • To work with the team lead to deliver the Primary engineering design by adhering to the process and the Business strategy.
    • To prepare technical specifications of Primary Equipment, design the layouts, civil guide drawings, loading calculations, Design Intend Document etc.
    • Reviewing and comment equipment suppliers offers 
    • Monitoring of the engineering delivery progress as per the engineering programme of the project, escalating issues as and when required to the team leader
    • Collaboration and communication skills, ownership and accountability are pivotal for this role. Makes a positive contribution to the team

    What You Bring

    • Extensive 3D design experience (min of 10-12 yrs)  within the Electricity Transmission and Distribution industry, preferably with some working in the UK market
    • You should have a Degree in  Engineering preferably in Electrical
    • Good knowledge of layout and Primary Equipment for substations projects up to 400kV
    • Good knowledge of Health & Safety standards (including CDM regulations) applicable to the design of High Voltage substations.
    • Robust knowledge and working experience of Revit, leading and guiding the junior member of the 3D CAD team is essential
