    Campus Intern: Residence Life Intern

Looking for a placement year that's more than just a desk job?

Join our Residence Life Team and help create unforgettable experiences for students living in university accommodation. This isn’t just about admin, it’s about building communities, planning events, and making sure everyone feels at home!

We are looking for a current Leeds undergraduate student to join our team as the incoming Residence Life Intern. Our internships are designed to enhance your employability and help you develop key skills and experience for your CV. This includes teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills, initiative, organisation, high quality administration and project development.

At the University of Leeds, Residence Life is a structured program designed to make living in halls a positive, supportive, and enriching experience for students. We go beyond simply providing accommodation by creating a vibrant community where students can feel a sense of belonging and thrive both personally and academically. Our programme includes social events, wellbeing initiatives, leadership opportunities, and around the clock support.

Residence Life plays a critical role in helping students transition successfully to university life. Moving away from home can be overwhelming, and Residence Life provides the guidance and community needed to make this adjustment smoother. We foster inclusion and diversity, encourage students to connect with peers from different backgrounds and develop cultural awareness.

We promote personal growth by teaching essential life skills such as independence, responsibility, and resilience. Through events and leadership roles, students can gain confidence and transferable skills that will benefit them throughout and beyond university. By creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment, Residence Life helps students build friendships, maintain wellbeing, and achieve academic success, making it an integral part of the Leeds student experience.

As our Residence Life Intern, you’ll be at the heart of creating a vibrant student community. You’ll support the planning and delivery of social events, wellbeing initiatives, and community-building activities across our residences. From advising our Residence Life Social committees and managing social media to helping organise and run major events like Freshers’ activities and Winter Balls, you’ll gain hands-on experience in event coordination, administration, and project development. You’ll also work closely with the Residence Life team to respond to student queries, update online content, and gather feedback to improve our programmes—making a real impact on the student experience at Leeds.
