What the day will look like
As a Technical Consultant some of your key responsibilities will involve;
- Co-ordination and collaboration with colleagues in other parts of Aon to provide a unified client proposition
- Represent Aon on appropriate specialist internal/external bodies, e.g. Practice Groups, CII, BIBA,
- Proactively research and analyse industry news, trends and emerging risks and provide quality thought leadership and written articles
- Carry out policy comparison reviews and provide product support materials. Collaborate with the market in creating and maintaining standard wording/minimum acceptable wordings.
- Work with Product development teams and business leaders to identify and develop new products and services
- Technical authorship of business templates.
- Provide specialist technical input, support and response (including attending client meetings) to client projects, ad-hoc queries, new business and defence exercises, strategic and market reviews, programme reviews, complex claims and risk management.
How this opportunity is different
We're currently recruiting a Technical Consultant to join our specialist team based in London but you can be domiciled anywhere in the UK. You will be primarily responsible for supporting Aon's internal broking colleagues with market updates, coverage and wordings assistance, mentorship and counsel. You'll be working on some of Aon's biggest, most sophisticated clients across their PD/BI portfolios and will be a confident communicator, collaborator and influencer at all levels.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Property Damage and Business Interruption subject matter coverage authority with excellent general insurance knowledge, to support client work - with particular focus on Aon's Global and Specialty business.
- Wording expertise– able to draft, interpret and negotiate policies.
- ACII/FCII preferred
- Strong negotiation skills. Able to support negotiation with technical argument
- Excellent interpersonal skills – written (bulletin and report writing) and verbal (to clients, market contacts and colleagues).
- Self-motivated. Able to work on own initiative and without supervision
- Project management skills: Able to deliver solutions to agreed timescales and other parameters
