    Senior Scrum Master (RTE)

    Role Description

    Allianz Specialty have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Scrum Master (Realease Train Engineer) to join our family of talented people in the Transformation Change Team.

    As Senior Scrum Master you will act as a servant leader and Agile Release Train (ART) coach who facilitates ART events and processes and supports teams in delivering value. You will be responsible for communicating with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help to manage risks, and drive relentless improvement.

    You will further be responsible for ensuring cohesion and transparency across a group of scrum teams. As a senior in our agile ecosystem you will be expected to support the progression of Scrum Masters within the community as well as be an advocate for the agile way of working within the wider organisation.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Responsible for coordination of multiple delivery teams, engaging others in the ART/Scaled model Cadence for Programme Increment and Iterations and providing a clear and synchronised method for teams to track progress & optimise the flow of value through the teams
    • Establish all necessary events to ensure readiness for cadence & support the flow of information allowing team objectives and outcomes to be consolidated and shared at Program level and the program vision to be clearly understood by all of the ART/Scaled agile teams
    • Demonstrate effective Transformational Leadership, motivating, embracing and coaching members of the entire release train, building team cohesion and fostering an open and honest culture and driving relentless improvement
    • Provide mechanisms for teams to identify and share impediments and actively address these blocking issues so the team can focus on achieving Iteration goals. This may involve engaging with other teams for support and managing escalations
    • Work with other RTEs and Scrum Masters to facilitate the removal of external dependencies in different product areas or release trains
    • Ensure effective identification of and management of Risks & Issues & engage with Enterprise Transformation Management Office (ETMO) in order to ensure value realisation and to support adherence to and improvements in the lean governance
    • Communicate and share achievements as well as key challenges from the teams across the organisation to ensure continual improvement.
    • You will be leading a new chapter for some well established teams, coaching them and the business in scaled agile delivery. 

    Technical Skills

    • Knowledge of SAFE (Scaled Agile Framework) and Scrum
    • Proficient in use of Jira & associated tools
    • Proficient in financial management including agile/phased budgets
    • Strong leadership and excellent people management skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.
    • Strong negotiating and influencing skills; ability to challenge when appropriate.

    Experience

    • Strong knowledge and application of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
    • Intricate understanding and experience of implementing scrum
    • Change management experience
    • Experience within various different industries preferably including Financial Services
    • Experience within Agile product and change delivery on a scaled basis
    • Experience of operating within lean budgets
    • Experience of resource management with internal (including offshore) and/or external (3rd Party) providers.
    • Effective skills management including identifying opportunities for cross skilling.
    • Ability to design release train team structure and continually evolve through inspect and adapt techniques
    • Leadership experience, having led multiple geographically dispersed scrum teams.
    • Ability to influence at all levels – motivating teams as well as managing leadership negotiation around organisational constraints
