    Support Worker

    Halesowen, West Midlands

    Hours: Part-time (Minimum 18 hours per week / 3 shifts per week, including evenings and weekends)

    Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience

    The Role

    As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting young people to achieve their personal goals, develop life skills, and transition towards independent living. You will work closely with the Deputy Manager and other team members to deliver person-centred support within a safe, nurturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide emotional and practical support to young people aged 1618 and young mothers in our supported accommodation.
    • Promote independence and life skills, including budgeting, cooking, personal care, and positive parenting.
    • Support young people in accessing education, training, employment, and community resources.
    • Maintain accurate daily records, support plans, and incident reports.
    • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
    • Build trusting, professional relationships with residents and act as a positive role model.
    • Support with household tasks, daily routines, and community integration.
    • Participate in staff meetings, training, and supervision sessions.
    • Work flexibly across a rota, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts as required.

    Requirements

    • Genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people and families.
    • Strong communication and empathy skills.
    • Reliability, patience, and resilience in challenging situations.
    • Willingness to work a flexible rota pattern (including evenings and weekends)
    • Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent.
    • Experience supporting young people with emotional or behavioural difficulties, or young parents.
    • Understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and positive behaviour support.
