    Solutions Engineer - UK Public Sector

    Job Description

    Splunk seeks a highly motivated, outcome-focused individual to join our UK Public Sector Solutions Engineering team as a Solutions Engineer (SE). As a Splunk SE, you'll be a technical sales resource for the UKI Public Sector Sales team supporting our clients primarily in the Aerospace and Defence sector. You will be the authority regarding the technical aspects of our solutions and how they integrate within our clients' workflow and tooling.

    SEs must be comfortable building rapport with their clients' technical staff, serving as trusted advisers within the accounts and partners that they support. To this extent, communication is key; your ability to communicate well and engage with the right people in the right way in a timely manner is crucial to this role.

    The SE develops and owns technical proof activities to drive new and expansion opportunities, increase product usage, and generate new sales pipeline through workshops, office hours, and Q&A sessions.

    In addition to providing technical guidance, Splunk SEs understand their clients' businesses well and can tailor their solution positioning to both a business and technical audience.

    Responsibilities; I want to and can do these:

    • Establish and own strong technical relationships within the territories you support.
    • Own achieving the 'technical win'; moving opportunities from qualification to technical validation and into business validation.
    • Develop technical activity plans to help the customer technically validate the Splunk products and services and achieve meaningful value outcomes post-sale.
    • Partner with the Regional Sales Manager in in-person and remote meetings with customers to determine their needs and how Splunk can meet them.
    • Support our clients through the buying process by running presentations, demonstrations, workshops and answering technical questions to validate Splunk as the right solution.
    • Scope and run Proof of Concepts with clients to agreed success criteria and timelines.
    • Work with our partners on joint selling of Splunk solutions to their customers enabling the partners on the Splunk solution set.
    • Identify, document and plan to mitigate technical risks to accounts to prevent customer churn
    • Ensure your knowledge and skills of Splunk solutions are up to date.
    • Maintain timely updates on the state of your opportunities in Salesforce.

    • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and appropriately in meetings, phone calls, emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports, both externally with customers and internally.
    • Strong presentation and demonstration skills with an ability to use stories effectively.
    • Ability to actively listen.
    • Good organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.
    • Experience working in or for UK public sector organisations.
    • Required Technical Knowledge; Yes, I've got these:
    • Linux or Windows knowledge
    • Basic network connectivity troubleshooting
    • Infrastructure as a Service platforms: AWS, GCP and/or Azure
    • IT architecture concepts such as High Availability, Disaster Recovery
    • Highly Desirable Knowledge and Experience; I have some or all of these too:
    • UK Security clearance
    • Experience of working in the aerospace and / or defence sector
    • Domain knowledge in any of: security operations, observability, DevOps, IT operations, big data or log management.
    • Experience writing and using regular expressions.
    • Experience coding in Python.
    • Experience working with REST APIs.
    • Experience with container and container orchestration technology.

    Account Executive– UK Intelligence & Security

    Do you have a track record of building strategic relationships and delivering results within the UK Intelligence and National Security?

    Are you passionate about national security, digital resilience, and emerging technologies—and ready to support some of the most mission-critical organisations in the UK?

    We are hiring an Account Executive– UK Intelligence & Security to join the Splunk Public Sector team, supporting key government accounts across the UK intelligence and national security ecosystem.

    This is a senior individual contributor role that requires deep familiarity with government, the intelligence community, stakeholder environments, and procurement pathways. You’ll be part of a specialised team helping organisations use Splunk’s data platform to detect threats, modernise systems, and gain real-time operational insight across complex environments.

    Responsibilities: 

    • Consistently deliver against ambitious targets with a strong focus on predictability, long-term engagement, and mission value.
    • Own and manage a strategic portfolio of accounts within the UK intelligence and national security domain.
    • Shape long-term engagement strategies, drive account planning, and coordinate with internal teams to align on mission objectives and programmatic needs.
    • Navigate complex stakeholder ecosystems, including technical, operational, and procurement channels within sensitive or classified environments.
    • Collaborate with in-house sales engineering, security, and delivery teams to design and deliver solutions tailored to critical use cases such as cyber defence, threat detection, insider risk, and operational resilience.
    • Apply Splunk’s value proposition to real-world intelligence and security challenges—leveraging data to drive situational awareness and mission outcomes.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor and advocate for your customers, ensuring they gain full value from their investments in data and technology.
    • Engage regularly with C-level, senior officials, and technical leaders, understanding both strategic and tactical priorities.
    • Operate within a high-performing team culture with a focus on shared goals, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Lead or coordinate cross-functional engagement across Splunk to align with government frameworks, delivery partners, and compliance standards.

    Requirements: 

    • Proven success (minimum 3 years) in strategic account management or mission engagement within the UK public sector, ideally with direct experience supporting intelligence agencies, national security organisations, or secure government departments.
    • Ideally, holding existing SC or DV clearance within the community. 
    • Deep understanding of the operational needs and challenges facing the UK intelligence and security sector, including sensitivity to governance, risk, and assurance processes.
    • Experience managing complex account environments, building trusted relationships, and aligning technology solutions to evolving mission priorities.
    • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and technical teams alike.
    • Strong executive presence, with comfort navigating ‘C-Suite’ and senior official engagements within government or defence.
    • Experience of closing complex software or platform deals, ideally within government procurement frameworks (e.g. G-Cloud, DOS, CCS, or equivalent).
    • Understanding of SaaS or cloud-based forecasting, opportunity risk management, and public sector procurement cycles.
    • Strong growth mindset and adaptability—curious, self-aware, and willing to learn continuously in a dynamic, regulated environment.
    • Comfortable operating independently and remotely, while maintaining strong collaboration across internal teams and external stakeholders.
    • Willingness to travel regularly across the UK for customer meetings, on-site engagement, and industry or government events—up to several times per month.

    Global Trade Compliance Screening Analyst (Hybrid)

    Your Impact

    You will join the Cisco TLC’s Screening Operations team supporting our transaction screening program. This team is responsible for global trade regulations globally and across the business. We are looking for a curious, creative teammate. You will be responsible for:

    • Working as part of the team reviewing and conducting due-diligence reviews, specifically denied party, location and end-use/end-user screening for wide variety of sales, service and other transactions
    • Handling regional and global caseload that consists of reviewing transactions and validating the appropriate export license and/or export license exceptions for transactions
    • Monitoring internal tools to ensure transactions are compliant and reviewed at the speed of business and determining when escalation is appropriate to senior management and/or trade counsel
    • Explaining regulatory requirements and compliance risk to internal business and develop and maintain relationships with key business partners
    • Representing the team, developing and maintaining relationships with various internal functional groups to understand and execute business support
    • Conducting risk-assessments, periodic reviews of screening procedures, compiling reports and metrics
    • Finding opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of our screening program
    • Supporting ongoing adoption and implementation of new and/or updated screening tools, including technology software and systems, training programs and support developing associated processes
    • Staying up to date with regulatory evolutions pertaining to sanctions screening and business transaction monitoring

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Relevant BA/BS degree (MA advantageous)
    • Knowledge of U.S. sanctions regulations (geographic and list-based), EU Sanctions regulations, the BIS Entity List and other applicable denied party regimes and associated risks and prohibited activities
    • Knowledge of export license requirements
    • 5 or more years’ experience conducting due diligence reviews of sanctions alerts, including record keeping of analysis and alert disposition
    • Excellent English (written and verbal) communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • ACAMS or similar sanctions certification
    • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning screening software tools (e.g., Oracle Global Trade Management, Global Trade Solution, other)
    • Ability to balance quality of work with deadlines, in a fast-paced, results-oriented culture
    • Experience collaborating closely with virtual teams and with cross-functional stakeholders
    • Ability to identify risk issues affecting work progress and to recommend solutions
