    Corporate Tax Assistant Manager

    Make an Impact within our Corporate Tax team at RSM UK

    Our national corporate tax service line supports a wide range of businesses with tax compliance and advisory services, fostering a culture of individuality, collaboration, and positive change to drive success for both our people and clients.     As an Assistant Manager, you will be an integral part of a high-performing tax compliance and advisory team in Gatwick, Bristol, Guildford, Reading or Southampton. The team supports and advises a range of interesting and expanding companies who operate in a range of sectors, such as technology, manufacturing, leisure and tourism, retail, professional services and construction to name just a few.

    You’ll make an impact by:

    • Delivering a high-quality annual corporation tax compliance service to a portfolio of clients across a range of industries and channels, including reviewing computations & tax for accounting disclosures and being a main point of contact for our client’s queries.
    • Working closely with your colleagues to provide value adding, technically accurate, clear and concise tax advice covering a range of technical issues relevant to your clients’ business risks, challenges and opportunities. Such areas are likely to include loss relief, tax relief on interest, transfer pricing, R&D tax relief, capital allowances, group reorganisations, shareholder reorganisations, international tax matters and acquisitions & disposals.
    • Assisting colleagues in other departments to help them provide a high-quality service to their clients and to identify tax related risks and opportunities for their clients. This will include working with our transactions team on tax due diligence projects and our restructuring advisory team on distress or insolvency cases.
    • Continually improving your skills, knowledge and capability for the benefit of our clients which you will be expected to embrace as part of your own development and promote by way of providing coaching and guidance to junior members of the team in a confident manner.

    • ACA, ACCA and/or CTA (part) qualified.
    • Background in an accountancy practice with good knowledge of corporate tax.
    • Proven experience in client handling and managing a busy portfolio.
    • Excellent communication and organisation skills.
    • Experience of using specialist tax software is advantageous.

With a talented team of 100 specialists across the UK, we provide practical and tailored support to our clients, helping them navigate intricate employment tax issues, manage global workforce challenges, and create effective reward strategies. This holistic approach not only enhances compliance and efficiency but also supports the strategic goals of our clients, making RSM a trusted partner in the ever-changing landscape of employer solutions.

    Joining us as an Employment Tax Associate Director in our one of our national offices (Birmingham, Leeds, London, Cambridge, Gatwick, Bristol, Guildford, Reading or Southampton), you will be working within a strong and growing team and would suit an individual who is passionate about navigating the complexities of employment tax and who is looking to build their career in a progressive environment where your personality and expertise can make a significant impact. 

    Although our preference would be for someone to be based in the above mentioned locations, as we work towards a more national approach, we are more than welcome to receive applications from candidates closely based to any of our UK offices.

    • Collaborating with a national team of 100 experts. Working alongside some exceptional team members, providing cutting-edge solutions to our diverse client base
    • Contributing to raising the bar in employment tax standards by using your skills and knowledge in a practical and insightful way
    • Focusing on key areas for your clients including employment tax risk and governance, off-payroll workers, national minimum wage, payrolling of benefits and much more
    • Engaging with a variety of clients, from FTSE 100 companies and large overseas parented subsidiaries to PE-backed firms and founder-let, fast growth businesses
    • Being part of a team that values your insights and contributions, providing an opportunity for you to use your experience to develop members of the team, fostering a culture of inclusion, respect and innovation

    What we are looking for:

    • CTA qualified or equivalent, or qualified by experience
    • Specialist in Employment Tax and understanding of Global Mobility with the ability to deal with complex tax issues 
    • Open and approachable, taking the time to listen to views and ideas of others
    • Ability to people manage, focusing on building and developing individuals and being able to identify existing talent within the team
    • Embody our grow our own principal, with an ambition to coach, lead, develop and manage a team
