This role will require you to have experience within the commercial interiors industry and an extensive experience of costing and winning Refurbishment, CAT A and CAT B projects of £1M+.
You will be responsible for the for monitoring the control of costs, maximising revenue, minimising liabilities, and maintaining the required standard of financial recording
You will be expected to travel through the UK & Ireland as part of their role to construction sites, Company fixed locations or other locations as required by the demands of this role.
Responsibilities
Achieve the appropriate commercial result for projects through the provision of accurate financial reporting.
Build and maintain working relationships with the supply chain and clients.
Manage subcontractor supplier accounts, financially and contractually. Monitor subcontractors against the programme. Negotiate final accounts.
Place supply chain orders in accordance with the procurement schedule.
Complete measurements and valuations of work executed, ensuring that they meet the conditions of the contract.
Negotiate and draft subcontracts
Ensure payments to Sub Contractors and Supplier are made to the terms and work in progress cash targets.
Ensure that Fado is compliant with all contractual requirements.
Monitor project expenditure against budget. Provide analysis of cost over-run and cost projections. Exploring opportunities to maximise value and minimise cost.
Liaise with clients on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims and additional payments.
Identify legitimate contractual claim situations and prepare suitable and documentation to clients.
Produce and monitor cash flows
Strive for continuous improvement within the commercial process and your area of responsibility
Abide by all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies
Flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines
Work collaboratively with Delivery Team and FADO Senior Management Team to maximise revenue and minimise liabilities
Support the Pre-construction Team providing subject matter expertise and assisting with tender/submission documentation.
Contribute as required to all aspects of project/tender bid submissions.
Support the procurement, commercial and delivery teams to ensure knowledge transfer from tender to delivery.
Qualifications
Good communication skills (verbal and written) and able to engage with all stakeholders at all levels.
Self-motivated. Capable of working on own initiative.
Excellent attention to detail and meticulous planning and organizational skills.
Flexible approach to working hours and various different locations throughout the UK and ROI if required.
Excellent technical knowledge of construction methodologies and best practices.
Working knowledge of building construction with onsite experience in an Quantity Surveying role
Experience of both JCT and NEC contracts
Prior pre and post contract experience in a construction QS role
Educated to Degree level, in Quantity Surveying or a related subject. HND/HNC or strong construction related experience will be considered
