    Litigation Solicitor

    The Opportunity

    You will join an established litigation department made up of fee earners across all levels. The successful candidate will enjoy real autonomy, managing their own mix of pre- and post-issue files from initial instruction through to resolution, while also supporting senior lawyers on more complex, high-value matters. Youll also play a role in supervising and mentoring junior colleagues.

    Key Responsibilities

    Managing a varied caseload of general litigation matters (with supervision as required), including:

    • Contract disputes
    • Debt recovery
    • Landlord and tenant matters
    • Bankruptcy/insolvency
    • Personal injury
    • Conducting litigation from start to finish in line with internal procedures.
    • Drafting a broad range of legal documents including statements of case, disclosure lists, witness statements, applications, court orders and instructions to counsel and experts.
    • Ensuring all documentation is accurate, well-prepared and maintained throughout the life of each matter.
    • Billing files promptly and ensuring timely receipt of payments.
    • Dealing with client enquiries professionally and efficiently, maintaining excellent client care standards.
    • Supporting senior fee earners on complex, multi-track cases where required.
    • Actively engaging in business development initiatives with guidance and support from senior team members.

    What Were Looking For

    • 24 years PQE in litigation; personal injury experience is desirable but not essential.
    • Strong technical grounding in litigation, including advocacy experience at interim hearings.
    • A team-focused individual who enjoys collaborating, mentoring junior colleagues, and contributing to a positive working environment.
    • Confident working independently with a methodical, pragmatic approach to managing a diverse caseload.
    • Commercially aware, with the ability to deliver clear, solutions-focused advice.
    • Ideally, experience in business development or a genuine interest in developing this area of your practice.

    Paralegal

    Job Description 

    • My client is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Legal Assistant/Paralegal to provide support to their solicitors across a range of practice areas, including Commercial and Residential Conveyancing and Family Law. This is a key role within the team, contributing to smooth case progression and excellent client service.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist with residential and commercial conveyancing transactions from instruction through to completion.
    • Prepare and draft legal documents such as sales contracts and tenancy agreements.
    • Manage pre- and post-completion work, including Land Registry applications and SDLT/LTT submissions.
    • Liaise with clients, lenders, estate agents, and other stakeholders, providing timely updates and maintaining accurate case records.
    • Order and review property searches, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
    • Provide support in family law matters (experience desirable).

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 1 years experience in conveyancing.
    • Familiarity with Land Registry processes and SDLT/LTT.
    • Flexible, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn.

    Sous Chef

    Role Purpose

    As Sous Chef, you will be a key supporting pillar to the Head Chef Rob, assisting in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. You will help deliver on the guest promise of high- quality, seasonally driven dishes, while fostering consistency, discipline, and creativity. You will have a hands-on role in cooking, kitchen management, and team supervision, and have opportunity for growth.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist the Head Chef in planning, preparing, and executing all menu items, working to seasonal ingredient availability
    • Lead kitchen operations during service periods: supervising cooking stations, ensuring timing, quality, and presentation
    • Support menu development, costing, and portion control
    • Supervise, train, mentor, and motivate kitchen team (commis chefs, kitchen porters)
    • Oversee mise en place, stock rotation, ordering, deliveries, and kitchen organisation
    • Enforce and maintain food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness standards
    • Monitor wastage, portion control, and food costs
    • Collaborate with front of house to ensure smooth service and guest satisfaction
    • Help with special events, private dining or seasonal offerings

    Person Specification / Requirements

    Essential

    • Previous experience (12 years minimum) in a similar role (e.g. Chef de Partie, Senior Commis)
    • Solid knowledge of British / modern European cuisine and seasonal ingredients
    • Understanding of food safety, HACCP, kitchen hygiene standards
    • Strong leadership skills, able to motivate and manage a small team
    • Good organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
    • Commitment to high standards, consistency, and kitchen discipline
    • Flexibility in working hours (evenings, weekends, bank holidays)

    Desirable

    • Experience in a country pub, gastro-pub, or hospitality / inn environment
    • Basic costing / budgeting experience
    • Creativity in menu development and specials
