The Opportunity:
The hours of work are Monday to Friday 06:00 to 14:00.
This customer - facing post is an integral part of the Estates Department providing an efficient level of support services to Schools and Departments within the College to ensure the smooth running of research and teaching operations.
The ability to work as part of a team, excellent communication skills and a pro-active approach to customer satisfaction is essential.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking to appoint 2 tutors with a first degree in music and/or psychology area to fill tutoring positions on Psychology of Music to in Semester 2, 2025-26. This UG course provides an introduction to the study of psychology of music. Students are encouraged to think critically around the topic which is introduced from a broad perspective. The course is open to students across the university and does not require any musically specific skills (notation, theory, etc.). The course is taught weekly by means of formal teaching sessions and associated (bi-weekly) tutorial sessions. The tutorials are a key element of the course intended to reinforce and expand upon taught content that also incorporate a series of tasks, which are linked to assessment. Successful applicants will lead the bi-weekly tutorials and will contribute to marking and assessment under the supervision of the course organiser.

An opportunity has arisen for a Chef de Partie to join The University of Edinburgh Catering Department. The role will be based at our largest catering unit the John McIntyre Conference Centre (JMCC) located within Pollock halls.
The John McIntyre Conference Centre is a 650-seater buffet restaurant that provides approximately 28,000 meals each week during our student period and also provide breakfast, lunch and dinner to our commercial guests’ year-round.
