    This customer - facing post is an integral part of the Estates Department providing an efficient level of support services to Schools and Departments within the College to ensure the smooth running of research and teaching operations.

    Tutor

    The Opportunity: 

    We are seeking to appoint 2 tutors with a first degree in music and/or psychology area to fill tutoring positions on Psychology of Music to in Semester 2, 2025-26. This UG course provides an introduction to the study of psychology of music. Students are encouraged to think critically around the topic which is introduced from a broad perspective.  The course is open to students across the university and does not require any musically specific skills (notation, theory, etc.).  The course is taught weekly by means of formal teaching sessions and associated (bi-weekly) tutorial sessions. The tutorials are a key element of the course intended to reinforce and expand upon taught content that also incorporate a series of tasks, which are linked to assessment.  Successful applicants will lead the bi-weekly tutorials and will contribute to marking and assessment under the supervision of the course organiser.

    Chef de Partie

    The Opportunity:

    An opportunity has arisen for a Chef de Partie to join The University of Edinburgh Catering Department. The role will be based at our largest catering unit the John McIntyre Conference Centre (JMCC) located within Pollock halls.

    The John McIntyre Conference Centre is a 650-seater buffet restaurant that provides approximately 28,000 meals each week during our student period and also provide breakfast, lunch and dinner to our commercial guests’ year-round.   

    The annual salary for this post is £24,729 to £25,276 plus 15% premium band for flexible working.

    Estates Business Analyst

    The Opportunity:

    We are seeking an experienced and motivated Estates Business Analyst to provide high-quality, flexible, professional administrative and data support across Estates. The role combines business administration, contract governance support, data and information management, and performance reporting.

    Electrophysiologist

    The Opportunity:

    Required for an immediate start, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of an EEG database and prototype that will in turn help new advances in signal analysis and causal Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify seizures and predict outcomes, addressing barriers to early diagnosis in children with epilepsy.  

    This post is advertised as full-time (35 hours per week).  We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.  

    The position plays a central role in our multidisciplinary team, by establishing and annotating a new EEG database, and the development of a remote EEG device prototype, funded by a multidisciplinary >£2m EPSRC grant.

    Your skills and attributes for success: 

    • BSc in Healthcare Science (Neurophysiology) or other relevant science degree (e.g. Biomedical Science, Neuroscience, Psychology)
    • Training in clinical or research electrophysiology. 
    • Demonstrable understanding in acquiring and analysing EEG data (using specialised software, e.g. EEGLAB, MNE-Python or other). 
    • Understanding of neurological and neurodevelopmental conditions relevant to paediatric EEG. 
    • Demonstrable experience in conducting research experiments involving children or young adults.
