    Legal Office Manager

    Role Overview

    This is a hands-on, varied operational management position overseeing day-to-day office activity across both Romford locations. You will take responsibility for administrative leadership, staff coordination, compliance support, and ensuring the firms processes run efficiently and consistently.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee daily office operations across two Romford sites, ensuring smooth communication and workflow.
    • Manage administrative processes including document control, file management, archiving, and record-keeping.
    • Support compliance obligations, including regulatory and data-protection requirements relevant to a legal environment.
    • Provide line-management and coordination for support staff, including workload distribution and performance support.
    • Act as a central point of contact between senior management, legal teams, and admin staff.
    • Manage office facilities: equipment, supplies, maintenance, and relationships with suppliers/contractors.
    • Handle HR-related administration such as onboarding/offboarding, staff records, and absence tracking.
    • Assist senior leadership with operational improvements, new processes, and project-based initiatives.
    • Provide broader administrative support where required, including diary management and client communication.

    Candidate Profile

    The ideal candidate will bring:

    • Experience as an Office Manager, Practice Manager, or Senior Administrator within a law firm or professional services environment.
    • Strong organisational and multitasking ability, capable of working across two offices and balancing competing priorities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional, client-facing approach.
    • High levels of discretion and integrity, particularly when handling sensitive or confidential information.
    • Familiarity with legal processes, compliance expectations, and case-management or document-management systems.
    • Proactive problem-solving skills and the confidence to make improvements to processes and systems.
    • A collaborative, supportive approach that helps maintain a positive working culture.
    • Solid IT competence, particularly across MS Office and digital filing systems.
