As a Manufacturing Key Operative - Semi Skilled Butcher at one of our manufacturing sites, you’ll slice and trim meat to required specifications in a safe and efficient manner, in order to deliver quality food safe products for our customers. This will include trimming meat from the bone, and trimming primal cuts, as well as slicing steaks, chops and joints from three species.
You’ll make sure products are butchered to specification based on the training that you receive, and will strive to be an expert, sharing your knowledge and experience with the team and supporting team members around you. Working flexibly to support all areas of the business, you will also follow other company policies such as health and safety, security, hygiene and cleaning.

About You
You’ll be the kind of person who:
- Has good teamwork skills and is able to follow instructions
- Has some knife skills (although previous butchery experience is not essential)
- Is able to wear Personal Protective Equipment e.g. chainmail gloves and work in a production environment with varying temperatures
- Has a flexible approach, enjoys teamwork and is able to maintain concentration when tasks are repetitive

As a Cook in our Manufacturing site, you’ll be providing our hard working colleagues with good hearty meals to look forward to whilst they’re at work. Taking control of planning the menu, linking it to key events and national celebrations, you’ll also prepare and cook the food.
You’ll maintain excellent quality and hygiene standards, as well as food safety standards and will enjoy working at pace whilst delivering tasty meals for our colleagues. A real focus will be on excellent customer service, in a safe, efficient and hygienic environment.
Please note that the location for the site is in a fairly remote location and has very limited public transport options. It can be difficult to get to if you don't have your own vehicle. Please consider your travel options and make sure that this is a suitable location for you.

About You
You’ll be the kind of person who:
- Has experience in cooking a wide variety of dishes to suit a range of dietary requirements, with a focus on healthy and nutritious meals
- Has great time management, communication and problem solving skills
- Thrives in a busy environment and enjoys working as part of a team, with experience of preparing meals for large volumes of customers (between 200 to 1,500 daily)
- Ideally has Food Safety Level 2 and is COSHH trained (although we can provide this training if required)
